Liverpool and Udinese face off for the first time in their history at Anfield, with the home team looking to carry on their from after a sublime 5-2 victory over the weekend. Jonjo Shelvey is expected to play in this game as he's not suspended. Borini should recover by Thursday so he should be fully fit. Otherwise, the only injuries worth noting is that of Kelly and Lucas. Not sure on the status of Enrique.
Udinese has only won 1 out of 6 games so far this season but they aren't to be underestimated. In Di Natale, they have a very smart player who despite his age, would cause our defense problems. He came off the bench to get the last minute equalizer against Anzhi in their Europa clash which ended in a 1-1 draw. It's important that we win this home game. He also scored in their 2-1 win against Milan. While it's noted that both teams have never played each other, a familiar face returns in the shape of Daniele Padelli. I believe he is their first choice keeper.
What would your team be? A midfield of Sahin, Shelvey and Allen? Reckon Pacheco might start? Yesil or Borini? Or perhaps Joe Cole might make a surprise return seeing that he played and scored in the under-21 game recently.
