I'm amazed that Micah Richards and Adam Johnson aren't in the team though...
What do you think England's chances are in the Euros?

Nice to see Liverpool has 5 players - Johnson, Gerrard, Downing, Carroll and Henderson, with Kelly on standby.  :buttrock

So young at 21 and with a strong record for eng u21. all about how he develops in the next 2-3 seasons but lets not forget no one will be like stevie for a long time.

I really hope Jordan steps up this season. The kid has everything in his locker to be a really good CM. I think BR can help him develop into that player we're hoping him to become.

For me, the things that he lacks right now is positional sense and most of all the courage to take risks and threaten. It's not his fault he was played at RW for the most part but I think that's primarily because of his weaker positional sense. He's good absolutely solid passing abilities, a really good work rate, decent speed, good ball control. He just has to be try and be a lot more adventurous otherwise we'll never come to know if he can become world class. I really think BR can help develop both of his positional sense and give him confidence to play better. Let's hope for the best.

I'm not gonna slam Hendo for last season.  I wasn't happy he was playing so often, but that's not his fault.  He's a really young kid, and in a few years he could be a really good player, he's just not ready for the responsibility that he was expected to take last season.  This season I hope he doesn't start as near as often as last year (hopefully we have the quality to stop him from doing so) But I hope he gets a lot of chances from the bench.  He needs to keep growing, but if we throw him in too early, it's going to hurt us again.

I've always felt that he would end up being a good signing for us.  I don't know when that will be, but I still believe he will end up as an important part of our midfield someday.

Good post mate, especially the part about taking risks.

What frustrated me most was his lack of bottle, and in that i mean he gave the easy pass every time and didnt take any responsibility.

HIs best game i recall was when we went down to 10 men, might have been Blackburn away, and he virtually played right back. But he beat his man one on one time and again as there wasnt a simple pass on.

Like you said he does have plenty of ability, its about him trusting himself and imposing himself on games.

Its a confidence issue he came last season for big money had a shocking game against Sunderland and his head dropped.

He is a fantastic talent and we would see it more if A) He believed in himself and B) the fans believed in him

He is a type of midfielder that does everything for a team defends gets forward and works bloody hard. I think he will benefit under Rodgers and especially if he played with Lucas and Gerrard

He definitely is a good player and he is still young as well. I believe it is a good piece of business in getting him in. However, lets not get over ourselves. He is still young with bags of potential but we all know potential means nothing until it blossom into something real. Babel have great potential then, but does not seems to make it. Hope Hendo does.

which is why I don't see how spending 15m on Allen right now is a good idea. We should really try and get the best out of him, Aquilani, and Adam. I'm not sure we need to spend that much on another CM right now although we do need a backup for Lucas.

signing allen will only hamper the progress of shelvey and henderson.they will play less if he arrives and its possible one will be loaned out to facilitate his arrival.
i dont know what rodgers thinks allen can give us that the other two wont.
