In seriousness both Shelvey and Henderson will come good and be very good players for us.

no doubt he had a great season last year and performed in most games but again its a case of him being ready for such a step up.we have to trust he manager on this one.15mil is a fair sum though and its not like were in a dog fight either for his signature so i hope we can offload some of our deadwood to lower the price.
henderson hopefully grew a pair over the summer and he's ready to up his game but in the case of jonjo he's imo only a season away from emulating the same impact that allen had last year at swansea so i hope he's included in the managers plans for this season.

He will struggle to make the bench most weeks.  This guy cost £20m and will be sitting in the stands!

Henderson should watch Allen play and take notes.  Allen always goes looking for the ball and doesnt shirk responsibility.  Henderson is the total opposite!

I still wouldnt be surprised to see Hendo and or Downing leave this week if the right offers come in.

New manager clearly not keen on either and these boys need to play if they have any hope of maintaning
international recignition.

I can see both lads having their agents contact other clubs to seek out interest and in particular Downing
who has lost out to a 17 year old and was shoved out to left back at Hearts.

See if anything develops.

we have potentially got a lot of fixtures to play and our squad isnt the biggest, even if henderson doesnt play a single premier league game (though i`m  sure he will due to injuries, suspensions, loss of form, tiredness etc) with a reasonable run in the cups he`ll still probably play something like 20 - 30 games this season. the league cup draw is this week and once you get into the group stages of the europa league in particular the games come thick and fast and there`s usually a lot of tiring travel involved. the squad players will play an important role this year.
henderson cost £16m, £1m more than joe allen, that is probably the going rate for someone who is 21, an england international and the captain of the england U21`s. he`s got time on his side and i think his style suits the way rodgers wants to play.

The Times says Henderson refused to go to Fulham in a deal for Dempsey.

I really am not surprised that BR is happy to sell Henderson.  BR wants to get rid of the wasteful buys last summer!

he's well down in the pecking order and rightfully so, hes awful practically every time he steps on the pitch for us, if i was him id take the loan deal and put himself in the shop window. My fear is that were stuck with him and downing as were never gonna get anything close to the transfers we paid back for them.

the thing is we need options.

last season we started the season with 8 central midfielders. everyone moaned that we had too many so we got rid of several players. then late in the season we had lucas, gerrard and adam out injured so we only had really has spearing, shelvey and henderson left to play in there.

looks like he is going, hear Stoke have put a very good bid in for him now.

May well end up short in CM again if he goes.  Aqua, Adam, Spearing already gone.  Lucas injured and Stevie's fitness is not exactly fantastic.
Could leave us with just Gerrard, Allen, Sahin + Shelvey.

Hope we don't make the same mistakes as last year.
