Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

If I was Aquilani I wouldn't even bother reporting for pre-season, I'd just sit at home with a nice cup of English Breakfast tea (twinings, of course) watching This Morning.

Fantastic player when fit though.

Pretty much sums it up for me.  I can't imagine there's a lot of genuine enthusiasm on the part of both the player and the manager for a Liverpool return and without that, it'll never work.

Maybe KKs charm and wit might work where Roys didnt?

KK's charm and wit didn't work in the summer of 2011...

I always thought he looked a bright player and I'd be happy to have him back here, to be honest he can't be any worse than what we already have in terms of goal threat.

Milan put off by Aquilani price

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has revealed the club will not be taking up the option to sign Alberto Aquilani but could do so at a later date.

The 27-year-old has just completed a season-long loan from Liverpool with the Serie A outfit, who have the option of making the switch permanent.

The two sides had agreed a fee of 8million euros (£6.4m) but Milan now want to renegotiate the terms of the deal in the hope of getting a better price.

June

"We will not use our option to buy Aquilani before May 31. We will re-open talks with Liverpool in June, though," said Galliani.

However, in the case of Maxi Lopez, Galliani has made it clear they will not be signing him on a permanent deal after his six-month loan from Catania expired.

He added: "We are satisfied with what he has done, but we will not sign him. Maxi will return to Catania."

looks like they think there`s an opportunity to sign him for buttons, probably using aquilani`s desire to stay in italy as a lever to force the deal to through.
that £6.4m was already a knockdown price so they are just taking the p1$$ out of us, hopefully FSG tell milan to do one and tell aquilani to get his @rse back to liverpool for pre season training in july.
the 2 clubs had a deal but now they want to basically rip that deal up and get him even cheaper.

shady b@stards!

so Milan think they can sign a loan deal with a pre-agreed transfer fee then simply wait until that deal expires and then come back the day after with a even more derisory bid? How can that be legal? Pay what you agreed to you f*cking no good, double crossing rat b@stards! Id rather have him play in the reserves for a season than have that shower of c*nts take the Reds for suckers.

Big business makes me sick to my stomach

it was a w@nk piece of business and has continued to be a w@nk piece of business for years now. We've handled it like poo but our hands are tied and Italian clubs are just taking the P!ss out of us now. I'm sure Aqua could play a role for us if he really wanted to, but he'd rather stay at home 'injured' humping his bird

Weve done some terrible business over the last few years and this perhaps the
biggest of all.

He was injury prone when we signed him and started out injured and then wanted
to go home when he got fit rather than stay and fight and give something back.

Its not so much he cant play its that hes a soft ***** who didnt want to even try
and make it work and screamed to go home like a big kid.

I mean £3m is peanuts when a non league player went for over £1m this summer.

I wish we'd just sell him so we can all stop talking about a player that clearly hasn't wanted to be here since Rafa left.
He's done everything in his power to avoid playing for us.
