i thought drive was derivative and unoriginal (though to be fair it is obviously a form of homage to old school chase movies). it didn't add anything new  for me though, except for some crappy acting and a couple more tedious hours in my life.

i watched 'melancholia' last night - the new one by lars van triers. his usual high standard of amazing cinematography and people that can't stand being close to each other but this time with the added bonus of another planet crashing into the earth.

Last night I watched a good movie called Hanna

from wiki

is a 2011 European-American action thriller film directed by Joe Wright. The film stars Saoirse Ronan as the title character with Eric Bana and Cate Blanchett. The film was released in North America on April 8, 2011 and in Europe on May 5, 2011.

Hanna Heller (Saoirse Ronan) is a 16-year-old girl[3][4][5] who lives with her father, Erik Heller (Eric Bana) in the wilderness of Finland. Ever since she was two years old, Hanna has been trained by Erik to become a skilled assassin. Due to her training away from any civilization, she has never come into contact with modern technology or culture, and has memorized a series of fake back-stories for herself to be used "when the time comes", as well as a great deal of encyclopedic knowledge. She is also fluent in several languages.

The Woman in Black.

Started watching it last night Maypax but nodded off halfway through.

To be fair what I did see looked ok but more creepy than "scary", I'll try and catch the rest later tonight.

Hey Woof, how much does it cost to go to the cinemas in UK? Over here, it costs around S$8 to S$10 which is probably GBP4 to GBP6.

The Woman in Black has a plot very very similar to Sleepy Hollow actually.

Depends on the cinema. Go to Vue or Warner and its anything £8-£15 but other more arty cinemas can be less. Plus its cheaper week days, stuff like that.

in ireland it costs around €8 for kids and €12 for adults but depends on the time and venue.thats the cheapest price but can cost more.
where they get you here is with the drinks, popcorn and ice creams and they can end up costing the same as the admission price for 2 adults and a child :sniffle

Yep.

If you go to a 3D movie as well that sticks another couple of quid on.

Family of four can easily do £70-90 quid in there if you get drinks/popcorn etc. total rip off really.

The Woman in Black is a remake of a the 1989 version. I watched that as a young fella and shat myself.

It's a creepy classic.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Woman in Black, I'd say it was Edgar Allan Poe esq. Also I've never seen any Harry Potter stuff so it was my first look at Daniel Ratcliffe as an actor (seen him on chat shows) and I thought he was excellent. 8/10.

Watched "The Help" the other night. Fairly entertaining drama set in the american '60s civil rights era. The white bigots in the film certainly remind me of many people I met during my years in white ruled South Africa.

Occasionally uncomfortable if like me you're white and have ever employed a maid :D . Worth watching,  especially if you're at all interested in the interaction between the black and white races back then.

Just watched Underworld the awakening. Action from start to finish. These films get better and better as does Kate Beckinsale
