Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The thing that made me laugh is the fact that when he got subbed he looked angry and :censored: off, if he was that concerned then why doesn't he put the effort and grit in to save his LFC career, the lad isn't made of the right material to make it at LFC.

Mentally he doesn't seem ready to be a at a top club, ala Robbie Keane.

I'm afraid he is right at the top of my list for shipping out. If we got £10m we would be doing well. Just how many midfield c.ock ups are we going to make. We sell Alonso and fail to secure his chosen replacement. Cole on a free and largely ineffective. Aquilani £20m and for reasons best known to Rafa and Hodgson it didn't work out. Poulsen was simply not capable of playing in the Premiership let alone LFC. Mereiles was useful so we sell him. Maxi was doing ok so we ignore him! Rierra started really well and then things started to go down hill - why? Henderson in my opinion is not good enough at this level and I'm not sure he ever will be.Spearing is of the same ilk. Adam is ok but nothing outstanding. Jovanovic was very disappointing. Mascherano we couldn't keep him due to inept owners and management! Zenden,Pennant and Benayoun all left more than just a bit to be desired! SORRY BUT THAT MAKES AWFUL READING. To think some people call us a work in progress. Souness Barnes Whelan Heighway Hall Lee to name but a few were the players that could make a difference. I hate to say it but I now think we have a midfield that is possibly the worst it has ever been.

he wasnt on his own though, quite frankly apart from a couple of players (suarez, skrtel, johnson) the performance was half hearted and gutless.
it reminded me of the cup final against united in 96, neither team played particularly well but once united scored everyone expected us to throw the kitchen sink at them, we were playing our biggest rivals at wembley in front of 100,000 fans and millions more watching on telly in the oldest competition in the world and we just let the game fizzle out.
with injury time there was about ten minutes left but the players carried on like it was a pre season friendly and saturday was the same, you wouldnt know we were 2-0 down the way players casually wandered over to take throw ins and fixed their socks and chatted when ever we had a free kick.
where was the f##king urgency? if they cant shift their :censored: for liverpool v united at old trafford they are at the wrong club.
i dont mind liverpool losing, every team loses games but there`s a way to lose games, liverpool lost on saturday but a beaten team has 2 ways to leave the stadium after a loss, they can be carried out on their shields like the players were after that 4-4 game in the CL away at chelsea when they knocked us out but only after we nearly pulled off an incredible win or they can trudge out the stadium with their tails between their legs like we did saturday.
next time we lose at least lets go out on our shields after having a f##king go.

In the 2011/2012 Season, this man aims to finish the league season with no goals and no assists

This man is Stewart Downing

what happened to dropping players to the reserves when they play as rubbish as Downing does? ???
he doesn't deserve a place even on the bench!

sh!t, we'll see the back of him in the summer
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Come on DD change the stats !!!!!!

Downing looked better against a Championship side.

Doesn't Raheem Sterling play down the left! Would like to see him given a chance at some stage.

Downing is set in his ways and I doubt he would want to chage even if he could.
He is much more comfortable against lesser opposition so well done for the assist

Magnificent performance.

Man of the match in a major final. He destroyed both full backs. Had we had Rush in the middle on the end of the crosses Downing would have had 4 assists.

Hes clearly got the ability, it was a question of belief. Hopefully this is the springboard for him.

Hopefully he's got confidence now to continue on.  Two games in a row he's done really well.  Good for the guy.  THo I must say I feel he shares MOTM with Kuyt.

Ya, to bad we have no poacher in the team.
Time after time again he put in inviting crosses into the box, but noone was at the end of them.
If only someone had went for the 1st post a few times like a true striker does....
