goalmouth and the incident where Mr Suarez admitted to using the word “negro”
between his initial account as reported by Mr Dalglish and Mr Comolli, his interview on 2
November, his witness statement, and his case as presented at the hearing.

He had changed his account in a number of
important respects without satisfactory explanation. As a result, we were hesitant about
accepting Mr Suarez's account of events where it was disputed by other credible witnesses
unless there was solid evidence to support it.

Then again,

5. The FA's case, in short, was as follows. In the goalmouth, Mr Evra and Mr Suarez spoke to each other in Spanish. Mr Evra asked Mr Suarez why he had kicked him, referring to the foul five minutes previously. Mr Suarez replied "Porque tu eres negro", meaning "Because you are black". Mr Evra then said to Mr Suarez “say it to me again, I’m going to punch you”. Mr Suarez replied "No hablo con los negros", meaning "I don't speak to blacks". Mr Evra continued by saying that he now thought he was going to punch Mr Suarez. Mr Suarez replied "Dale, negro, negro, negro", which meant "okay, blackie, blackie, blackie". As Mr Suarez said this, he reached out to touch Mr Evra's arm, gesturing at his skin. Mr Kuyt then intervened. When the referee blew his whistle and called the players over to him shortly after the exchanges in the goalmouth, Mr Evra said to the referee "ref, ref, he
just called me a :censored: black".

Does this make Evra more credible?

i'm not saying it does, but it's all about appreances for the FA.

After the match the Ref spoke with Evra for his account of events and then spoke to Luis, with Comolli translating.

During the hearing, Luis and Comolli changes their account of events...and so did Kuyt. It looks bad...especially whe the other party (Evra) has remained consistent with his version of what happened. Combine this with the fact that Luis has admitted using racing tones as an insult and BINGO...you have a guilty party.

I don't like Evra and i don't believe Luis is a racist...but I think he's guilty of the charge and we need to accept it and move on.

popular misconception. That is the max punishment from the court, not the fA. FA will launch a separate independent triel after. If found guilty by CP then will almost certainly face a ban from the FA also.

All this sh!t is just ridiculous. It's just two players insulting each other during the match and all that is just a part of the game for me. If there must be punishments for that than they should punish them both not only Suarez. He said he was black... big fecking deal, it's not like Evra is white or anything.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that Suarez has been give time to appeal until the 13th of January so he'll be able to play in the first fixture against City in the semi-final.

If this was reversed, meaning suarez made the allegations against evra it would,nt even be a issue. The FA are s.hit scared of whisky nose and we have all got used to it. They don't even do it underhand anymore. Time some clubs stood up to these bent t.wats. I hate them

Walk up to a black man in the street, then call him negro or black, see what happens .

Walk up to anyone and insult a member of their family. See what happens.

Anyway, its by the by. The only avenue I can see the club pursuing is getting Evra punished as well.

Exactly what I meant man. What happened was two players exchanging insults in a match which isn't something unusual in a game especially in a derby match like the one that was played, but the FA ignore everything expect the fact that Suarez allegedly called Evra a black? Man if someone was talking sh!t bout my sister like that he'll have to eat trough a straw for a week! Evra got lucky there.

all suarez had to do in the enquiry is say he never said anything that evra had made claims about and stuck to his guns on it...... then the FA wouldnt be able to make any damning comments against suarez....

personally I do feel its a witch hunt..... and I just love or is that loathe the way the media gets on the bandwagon and tell us - LFC - what we should and shouldnt be doing....

Ahhhh if Shanks was alive he would have told the press to stop using such big words to sell their papers and promote their twitter posts and get on with playing the football and not the man

Evra wat a cry baby is he a man or a donkey ???

:censored: the FA and their 115 page report - u need 115 pages to tell me someone was unreliable and the the other person was credible.... seriously WTF !!!

Why is it he is guilty of charge? Even if Suarez changed his story a thousand times how can a panel take a decision based on someone's else word without providing any conclusive proof. Evra came and accussed Suarez with his story without providing enough evidence, the FA believed it and banned Suarez for 8 games, how can you justify this? If there was a footage of the game where you can actually see Suarez winding Evra up or an audio of Suarez telling Evra  ''I don't speak to blacks'' or ''Why? because you are black'' or ''Ok N*****'' then yes he deserves the punishment he gets and even more, but there isn't such evidence on the table to punish Suarez for that amount of games.

This reminds of the Salem witch trial stories!!!

Just a question of practicalities, if we don't appeal the ban will start immediately on the deadline day right? If we do appeal what happens then? And if we don't decide to appeal can we say so and trigger the ban immediately?

I'm very much on the side of the world's gone soft here but that's a minority view and I'm fully aware of that. I say trigger the ban and let the episode move on. Release a statement saying yes we're annoyed at the way the case was handled but it's a difference of cultures, Luis didn't appreciate such differences at the time and is now aware and regretful of his actions. We'd like to stress he isn't racist blah blah blah etc etc CL place next season
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road
