cheered me up no end that did. :D

Like everyone else i dont want another English club to win a raffle so that was a great nights entertainment. Shakiri looks very useful..carrying a bit of timber but looks tidy on the ball. De Gea is a disaster at crosses..never knows whether to come out or stick.. catch or punch. He never had to face this in la liga and looks very weak at anything coming in from the flanks. Keeps 5-3 intact so all in all a great night.

Remember that Reina was equally bad when he came here at crosses.

HAHA  for them tumbling out.

And I thought manure had no chance at winning anything this season...

Well I guess they've got a chance at europa league.  Although city will problem knock them out of the FA cup and Europa league, so maybe not :D

well i for one did wish them to get into the next stage, we have now lost points and it might be the case that only the top 3 in the prem get into the CL next year.

Even if that kind of decision comes now it will not affect this season, it will start from the next.

We are so far in "credit" so to speak that it wouldn't have an affect for maybe 3 years, during which time we would have won it 7 times :D

now now Lakes, don't say silly things  :D

Thoroughly enjoyed the telly last night, Man U have no centre miidfielders, Rooney is very hit and miss atm, Jones looks like their best player and noone knows where he plays and without Vidic their defence looks very shaky

We've been saying it for years, get in their faces and you can beat them. Some teams are beaten by them in the tunnel out onto the pitch and show them far too much respect.

Fair play to Basel, Benfica and that other cr@p side, the group looked like the easiest on paper of all the English teams' groups and somehow they've screwed it up. Good times

I wonder how the attendance at Old Trafford will fare on a Thursday night...

yes you are right its over 5 years.
no English teams in the final last year and only two in the next stage this year.
our points are falling so we need a very good year next year to get our points back up, over the last six years we have always had 4 teams in the last few stages so we have been top of the points table.

You're worrying for no real reason. UEFA coefficients are derived from how successful your league is within European competitions. The coefficient is derived from performances in both the Champions League and Europa League, not separately.

Coefficient Calculation
The coefficient is a simple average score of all points accrued by teams in a European competition.

Win = 2 points
Draw = 1 point
Loss = 0 points

Games within the qualification stages accrue at 50% of the normal rate.

Bonus points
Qualifying for the Champions League group stage - 4 points
Qualifying for the knock out stages of the Champions League - 5 points
Reaching the QF/SF/Final of either the CL or EL - 1 point each round

-----------

All we have lost is two set's of knock out stage bonus points - 5 points each team.

Across all teams in European competitions we have accrued 94 points so far (Averaging at 11.750 for 8 teams). Our nearest league in terms of current performance is Spain with 77 points (averaging at 11.000 for 7 teams).

We have a 17 point accrued points lead so far and a far better average across more participating teams.

Our league status is NOT at risk.

Its not really biased towards the Mancs though is it

Even if Basel got kicked out there is no guarentee that the Mancs would go back into the CL - Basel's opponent in the CL can just get a bye .
