Too right. Infact, he HAS TO be man of the match against Birmingham otherwise he was a complete waste of money.

You tell me Mick - your the one who judges players straight away and says to the world they aren't good enough ! I think Jovanovic is the latest you have stated isn't good enough yet only played a handful of games ! Are you not going to give him the same time you say other people should give the manager   !

Players are different to managers in that you can see their attributes or playing style fairly quickly. Managers can sign players who do well, change formations etc etc but all of this stuff takes time, so it makes sense with managers to hold off on judgements.

As for me saying early on that players aren't good enough, I do do that yes. This is partly as I think I can judge a player, and partly as it's a forum and good for knockabout banter. I don't think I've been wrong very often about players who have worn the red shirt (if I have no doubt you will tell me), but it's all good clean fun I think.

As for Jovanovic, I don't really rate him no. I won't go into it here as the thread isn't about him, but there are (I think) sound reasons for my belief that he isn't going to be the player we all hoped he was.

Don't worry Mick I can think of the reasons why you don't think he will be good enough .

Some one said this the other day (it was probably you ) and while I can see what you are getting it without actually saying it, it's a ridiculous comment and just shows how paranoid some of you are.

I think Danny Wilson is a good signing. I think the Greek was a good signing, as is N'Gog proving to be. The likes of Torres/Reina/Alonso etc etc were all good signings, as were Garcia and Sissoko. I say it now, and I said it at the time. Equally, I was saying for three seasons that we had a team good enough to challenge for the title. You don't get that if you sign all sh!t players.

Some of you are so deeply embroiled in discussions within discussions that you can't see the woods from the trees.

The reasons I don't think Jovanovic is very good are football ones and to do with the way he plays. Grow up FFS.

I actually think Mick is a reasonable poster, obviously he's critical of Rafa and fair enough

I've read an article somewhere where Hodgy seems to have a jab at Rafa as well, it's fair enough for me, he's probably right in a lot of what he says
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Is that a serious comment?

'somewhere' 'seems' 'fair enough' ' probably'.

are we supposed to place any credence on those vague suppositions?  Is that supposed to tip an argument in your favour? :help

This forum is going down the pan fast.... even the mods dont post any more.

Butterbean :D I like that.

As for picking on Benny, I think it's the other way around to be honest. I try not to get involved with him, let him have the last word and all that, but sometimes I just can't help it  :eyebrow

It's only a bit of slapstick till we wait for the nest match anyway, that's why the forums so dead.

All I meant was that Rafa does have some pros and some cons. People have pretty much nailed their colours to the mast on the matter and thats that. Discussing it changes nothing. Thats basically my point Reg
