Thanks mate.

Wow what's Portugal's defence doing? I don't really blame the keeper, I blame the defenders. They failed the off-side trap two times. 2nd Cyprus goal was Meireles' mistake but how come there was only him and another defender? 4th Cyprus goal was the keeper's mistake.

They used to attach it (nail it) to a door/portcullis light the fuse and leg it. Often they'd fail to get clear before the thing went off hence the expression "Hoist (blown up) by their own petard".

Next week we shall discuss the expression "Run the Gauntlet"

Was surprised when I heard the result, looking at the clip I can't believe how poorly Portugal defended , thought their goalie also looked pretty ropey.

Nice strike from Meireles .

Lack of concentration, overconfidence in a easy game...I don´t know. The fact is that the portuguese defense was one of the best in the World Cup ( they only suffered one goal ) and yesterday it was a complete disgrace.

Also, it's  May-RELsh:eyebrow

I wonder some porto fan didn't really rate him.. Read a few message from fans about him and they state he was average at best,

Quotes from Porto fans:

I'll drive him to the airport.

Who on earth would want him? Some relegation battling teams from around the continent?

Generally, he's inept as a central midfielder, with abysmal long-range shooting, poor tackling, and limited ball distribution

I really hope Liverpool didn't buy him as a Mascherano replacement, cause if they did, boy did they get :censored: over in that one lol. Thanks for taking this garbage out of our hands. Make sure to warn the fans at anfield to duck whenever he takes a shot.

He doesn't excel at anything. His passing is average (you'll be surprised at the amount of short and simple passes he misses) and his shots more often than not, end up in row Z. Also, he has this awful habit of shooting with his left foot. Needless to say, he doesn't hit the target.

Since his first season here I was never impressed with this guy. He's average. Thats it. He's not a game changer, he barely contributes anything at all. He creates more fouls than winning tackles, his passing is nothing special, his shots are... well we all know that one.

All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road
