Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I still dont see anything special about him, ive been much more impressed by Adam and Downing in midfield, the Jurys still out for Henderson and Carroll IMO, they both need massive improvement if there going to Liverpool regulars, for the fees we paid for them there so supposed to be the stars of the future.

Just smashed one in for the u21s :)
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Very good strike and i liked the initial touch to set it for the player behind him, showed good touch and awareness.

His touch to make the yard for his goal was very good also.

What i have noticed is his willingness to get himself on the ball and use of the ball has been great.
Its something that in the summer under 21 tournament was poor so i am liking this more confident look about him.
The goal saturday looks to have done him the wold of good.
He isnt blessed with great pace but doesnt look terribly slow and has a very good cross on him.
He whipped in a cracking near post cross with pace before that chamberlain should have finished.
Sabre looks like a big lezzer

Yeah well taken goal for the U21's.  He looks like a box to box midfielder to me.  He tackles and wants the ball, he's good passer, and can shoot.

Great goal from Hendo tonight
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Indeed, he was captain and played in the centre too.

I mentioned when he signed for us that it is likely that kenny sees in him a potential to be Gerrard's natural successor...

If he cant step it up then he needs to be dropped. Simple as that for me. Hes had 20 good minutes or so in the 5 games hes played so far and its simply not good enough imo. We have lost Meireles mainly because of him imo, and players like Maxi and Spearing who have both done a good job when called into the side are finding their opportunities very limited while he gets a free pass into the starting 11.

For me, I think the only reason he makes the starting 11 is his price tag. He offers very little at either end, and the amount of times he loses the ball or wastes possession (given the fact that he rarely attempts ambitious passes) is simply staggering. If we dropped Carroll (which was a bold move by Kenny and one that needed to be done) then surely Henderson should be on the bench from here on in until he can prove his worth...
