He's one of these players who will always do the simple things well and give the team a balance. However if we're looking for a player who'll do the spectacular then he's never going to be the answer.
I am not looking for the spectacular from him.
I am looking for him to do anything to hurt the opposing side!!
We don't need anymore "5 yard sideway players"
A midfield of Kuyt, henderson and Lucas....
Lucas passes 5 yard sideways to Henderson, Henderson the same to Kuyt. Kuyt goes 5 yards up the wings and remembers he can dribble past a defender for his life and has no pace and passes a 5 yard back pass to Henderson who in turn passes 5 yard sideways to Lucas and so they continue for an eternity until Downing gets the ball and makes something happen.

Especially great vs teams that park the bus to allow them to all get back and defend...
Why do you all think the Manure up the road are so successful?
The have Nani, Valencia, Young. The have pace to burn, they take on the defenders. And most importantly the opposing team won't have the time to get eveyone back behind the ball!
