more quotes from Torres today, I'll try to post the link later on but I'm just taking the quotes from twitter

Torres on Liverpool:

I always gave a 100%, but it was a difficult situation. Even though I identified my self with the club,

you must always look after your personal ambitions to me that’s winning trophies, and unfortunately it doesn’t look bright for them (Liverpool)

It’s not a coincidence that Xabi Alonso, Javier Mascherano and my self left LFC. It’s all about ambitions.

I played for LFC for a few years, and had some great moments, but than a club with bigger potential came along.

It looked impossible to win the league at LFC, and I understood the supporters frustration.

It was difficult seeing the supporters burn my shirt.

Hes one of the best forwards in world football... The problem with Torres is that he has a pretty limited style of play... He doesnt have a great touch and isnt the best dribbler around... He needs to play for a team that affords him space through the middle and I'm not sure Chelsea are willing to offer him that at the moment... They are still very reliant on the likes of Drogba, Anelka, Malouda and Cole who are all better suited to a different style of play... Will be interesting to see if they start relying more on the likes of Torres, Ramires and Zhirkov next season.... Either way they have many world class players who can win them games even when not performing that well... Which is ultimately what wins you championships regardless of what anyones says about average players fitting in a system

Fernando Torres believes a bleak future lies ahead for Liverpool.

The Chelsea striker has hit out at his former club six months after he moved to the Premier League runners-up and feels that their quest for silverware is destined to fall short.

Fenway Sports Group have allowed Kenny Dalglish to invest over £100million in players in a bid to restore Liverpool's position at the top table of domestic and European football.

But Torres insists that his and other significant departures, such as Javier Mascherano and Xabi Alonso, were triggered by an apparent lack of ambition from the Liverpool hierarchy.

“Liverpool’s future isn’t looking bright,” he told Aftonbladet.

“I always gave them a 100%, but it was a difficult situation. Even though I felt like I was a big part of the club, you have to also look after your personal ambitions.

“For me, that is winning trophies and unfortunately that doesn’t look like a possibility for them.

“It’s no coincidence that Xabi Alonso, Javier Mascherano and myself all left Liverpool. It was always about ambitions. I played for Liverpool for a few years and had some great moments.

"But when a club like Chelsea, with bigger potential, come calling, it’s hard to say no – especially when it looked impossible to win the league for Liverpool."

Torres secured his £50million switch to Stamford Bridge at the end of the January against a backdrop of acrimony from supporters after he submitted a transfer request to Anfield chiefs as the transfer window was starting to tick down.

And the Spain international, who has scored just once following his arrival in West London, admits that he struggled to comprehend the sight of fans burning shirts bearing his name.

“I understood the supporters frustration," he added.

"But it was very difficult seeing them burn my shirt.”

Well he is definitly fitting in at Chelsea,  classless C.UNT!

That's pretty much him attacking us now, thats how I read it anyway. Such a shame as well for him to resort to this, cutting the ties in the most spectacular of ways. Anfield are gonna torture him, shame its not til near the end of the season. I genuinely hope he and Chelsea fail

I'd have hoped he would have had more class than that. Obviously not and deserves no recognition offered to other respected ex-Liverpol players.

I hope he bombs again this season.

Fernando Torres substituted after 15mins of Spain v Italy. Looks increasingly like #LFC sold to #CFC at the right time.
