He is in demand in Italy for what he for what he can do and is treated with the respect he deserves. He wasnt given the opportunity to shine here and might be thinking "what's the point?"

I agree.. Rafa did not manage him well at all and Roy just shipped him back to Italy without giving him even a sniff of a chance.

Why would he want to come back.. the lad has not been treated well by two successive managers. I am sure he could have made an impact here but thats the way it goes..

If KK thinks he will benefit LFC he will bring him back and work with him.

Facts are very clear why signing him was a huge mistake, given that when we signed him he carried an injury that ruled him out of the majority of the season. I don't doubt his abilities or talents, I do think he is a talented individual, but the timing of the signing was a mistake and we wasted 20m on a player who had an injury when we could have spent it on others to strengthen the team. Then he comes up saying he doesn't want to come back proves that the player was a flop, regardless whether he was given a chance or not the signing was an expensive flop. I would love it that he changes his mind (which is unlikely) and has a successful career with us

If you are saying that Rafa fu'cked up by paying £20 mil for an injured player then didnt give him a chance then it is clear he made a massive mistake and I agree.
I dont know whether Aquilani was a flop because I dont think he was given enough time for us to judge him. Lucas has had plenty of time and if he would have left last season he would have been a flop. But he has turned it round and has become a better player. That is clear

You say you don't know if he was a flop or if he wasn't given time...If he wanted to prove it he'd be willing to come back, knuckle down and get on with it. The lad's pretty much said he wants to be in Italy, not Liverpool. The transfer absolutely clear as day has not worked...why are we even arguing over that fact?

As for how much hes worth, there are people questioning Carroll and Johnsons worth on here and off, so its a moot point.
Look at Hernadez and Torres. How much is each of them worth?

There is a difference between a player who wants to stay and prove his worth than a player who set his mind and leaving. If Aquilani comes with a statement and says that he is willing to prove a point and wants to play for the Liverpool shirt then fair enough, I don't think anyone would be dissapointed, in fact we would be excited of the prospect of him coming back. However, the point is that he is not willing to come back and he is urging juventus to buy him. He is not the worth we paid for and we felt the consequences last season when we did not properly replaced Alonso.

tbh I still dont think Hernandez is anything special - he's just right place right time player, I don't think he has anything else in his locker, though some people I know slated me for having this opinion...

Aquilani is nothing special mate, he's not what we need. Anything I saw of him in a Liverpool shirt was nothing I've managed to commit to memory and that says a lot for me

It hasn't worked because he came in crocked and had to force his way into the side. It didn't work because he couldn't hack the physicality of the league, It didn't work because his injury record is p!ss poor

For Carroll is still early to tell, if starts banging 20+ goals for the next 3 or 4 seasons and scores important goals that wins trophies then I would be very shocked to see a Liverpool fan still questioning his price tag. As for Johnson, I still don't think he justified his 17m price tag, but he is still our player and he wants to prove himself, so he has time to prove he is a good investment. Aquilani played around 10 games and doesn't want to come back! It shows that he doesn't fancy England and he is better off in Italy and it also shows you that it didn't work out with him with us, which proves that the 20m we paid for him was a waste!

I think hes a good player, who, if he would have been managed properly, could have made a positive contribution.
I doubt if he will come back but I dont blame him if he doesnt. I remember the games he played with fondness as his 7 assists and 2 goals were proof to me he was a decent attacking midfield player who had much more to offer. As for handling the physicality, Miereles is the biggest sh'ithouse I have seen but has done well in the league so far.

There is no doubt that he is talented Thommo. I think when he is fully fit he is a quality midfielder. However, its the timing of his signing, we shouldn't have went for him when he had a long term injury, we should have went for other targets.
