According to some reporters on twitter we are set to sign Niang from Caen this week.

He is only 16 years old and played 7 games scored 3 goals with Caen last season.

Huge potential

Mertesacker of Werder Bremen wants to play in the Premier League according to soccernet. I see he is linked to Arsenal. Don't know much about him, except I remember him being touted on here somewhere.

He talks about living and playing in another country being an enriching experience. I like him already.

Only saw him play once.  He scored a nice goal, aside from that, I have no idea about him.

Aly Cissokho's got a mention of that caughtoffside thingy and the metro reckon Wayne Bridge. No guesses for which of the two I'd prefer

So much for all that Enrique sh!te then :D
All round the fields of Anfield Road

Cissokho is better, and he's 24.  He seems like a really good option and could be our LB for 5 years.  Wayne Bridge is 31 and has been declining ever since his girl was blowing Terry.

Wayne Bridge doesn't exactly fit with the Fenway sports new transfer policy so I expect this is no more than papertalk. Cissokho looks to be the # 1 target for LB now which I am pleased about as he is a solid FB and a very good player :)
