Apparently Aqua is off on loan again this week to Italy.

Merieles is off to Milan for 12.5 mil

gonna be just enough central midfielders no need for anybody to complain now.

I think we should be asking for more for Meireles to be honest. he cost about 10.5-11 didnt he ?
We should be asking for about 15.

On Aquilani how long is his contract ?
I wouldnt make the mistake of loaning him every season for nothing then he fecks off for fck all when his contract expires.

If we lose Meiriles and Aqua then I think we've gone backwards and might need another CM. If we keep one of them, preferably Meiriles, we'll be fine. Just don't think we should get rid of both.

Kenny seems to really rate Shelvey though so maybe he'll have a much bigger part to play than we're anticapating..

and you have to say shelvey did look the part at times last year. the pass for Saurez against fulham instantly comes to mind.

i think if we get Downing then the midfield is done just need a left back and a young centre half and we are sorted.

Merieles i think is worth atleast 16 mil.

Agree on both counts mate.
The problem appears to be that nobody is in for Aqua.
Mereiles had a decent season and would have soem takers.

But like you said i would be wanting more than 12 million.

I dont get why so many on here dont rate Downing. I think he will do really well in our team, his stats are excellent, he is used to playing in England and he will be playing in a team with much better players around him and a manager who knows how to improve every player and get that extra 5%.

I dont care how much we pay for him, coz its not my money. I just want us to build a "team" which contains the "right players" for our team/system not just the "right names" that are popular at the moment.

My thoughts exactly. I really do rate Downing. With Adam, Gerrard and Downing all sharing the ability to put amazing balls into the box, we will get so much out of Carroll. Not only will we, but the threat will always be there as a distraction allowing others to get more involved.

I think Downing would be a great signing.
