If we could get 3-4 I'd be more than happy.

Never good enough. Has only been at the club cause we couldn't afford someone better.

Why 8 million?

This makes no sense at all. We need to get rid of this clown ASAP.

Ludicrous stuff........ ???

But by saying 8, It will automatically make some people think he's worth more.  At this point I'd say he's worth maybe 3, but  having such a high price tag makes it sound like we value him more.  So maybe instead of trying to bid 1.5 or whatever, they bid 3, we say no, they bid 4 and we bite their :censored: hand off :D

Stweart Downing could be a good signing.  No doubt he's a talent, only worry is staying fit, which he seemed to do well this year.

Downing has only missed 14 games in the last 4 seasons, he had 1 bad year (09/10) where he missed 13 but this year he featured in all 38 games.
Personally I think we should be aiming a bit higher then Stewart Downing, IMO his a solid 6 or 7/10 player, similar to Riera just more consistent. Of course it would be nice to have an actual winger in the squad, I just hope it's not Downing.

Ya I could agree with that.  It's hard to get excited about somebody like Downing when you've been linked with the likes of Mata.

NEWSFLASH: Stewart Downing is a GOOD player! Quality delivery from wide positions (just what we need for big Carroll) and chips in with a few goals. More importantly it means that he wont be playing against us any time soon, always raises his game against the Reds that lad even going back to his Boro days.

I agree with that as well.  LIke I said, there's not doubting his talent.  But if it's between Stewart Downing and Juan Mata?

I'd say that's a no-brainer.

Poor old Ngog... he was the victim of Rafa never getting suitable back up in for Torres, and was shoved into the first team way before he was ready which has knocked his confidence and hindered his development.

He has always struck me as the type of player who will not peak or at least show his potential until he is much older, it is obvious looking at him that his body is not developed enough for him to physically compete and he does not have the composure needed to play in a Liverpool side.

We will never get 8M for him.. personally I would be happy to see a small return on what was paid. And he has tried hard for the club and given his best. Without him we would have had no forwards at all at some points so I dont think it is fair to keep hold of him looking for a stupid fee. He deserves fair treatment by the club and a move away to rebuild his career.

Bizarrely he played some of his best stuff for us under Roy.. (the only player that did) soo maybe he can bugger off to Brum!

he's not THAT bad, but agree that he's not good enough for LFC. we'll never get 8 million for him....3 perhaps, with a few add ons.
