Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I live in Glasgow and follow Liverpool. For me, it would be great if Celtic and Rangers were in the Premiership and Liverpool were visiting at least twice every year.

rangers would be fighting relegation in the premiership and celtic would possibly scrape into the uefa cup.

That would be bad for Rangers pride.

Both clubs would struggle to begin with but with such a huge fan base + big increase in Tv money & sponsorship i reckon both clubs would be pushing for top 6 after a few seasons

The fan base is huge. 10,000 travelling support every week. All the english grounds would be full for every Old Firm game.

''Owen emerges as Juve target

Real Madrid: Juventus are reported to be lining up a sensational move for England captain Michael Owen.

Reports claim the Italian giants want to take Owen on loan for the rest of the season when the transfer window reopens in January.

Juve are on the look-out for a striker after it was confirmed this week that French international David Trezeguet would be out for at least four months following surgery on a shoulder injury. end.''

If as suggested that Juventus are interested in Owen, how did we fail to create an 'auction' for Owen when he was sold for the derisory £8m.
Where is our 'business accumen' ? Our Board and Senior executives have  a lot to answer for !!

You could get some comfort out of knowing that there are other clubs who are equally as inept, but cant think of another premier club at the moment.

Like Kevin K at Man  City buying Anelka and Sam A with Diouff.

We can't keep blaming GH when others are involved in his incompetance and they are still at the club.

The principal is easy buy low sell high, sh8t everyone knows that but maybe they went to the same Unerveshity as Dom 1  is going to:D

Maybe Ar*en thinks too much reliance on Henry at present or maybe hes looking to the medium term availability.

The exact quote from the Daily Express :

''Should Owen decide to call it a day with Real, the potential bidders are already queing up.''

What the 'feck' is going on here ?
RM will hold the auction that LFC should have held in the first place and pull £15 to £20m for Owen, they will then turn round and tell us that Nunez was worth the balance !!!
Whoever, is charge of Buying and Selling at LFC should be sacked.

If you think back in time last year Cisse scored more goals in  the French league than Drogba and arguebly Drogba played in a better team than Cisse. Drogba went for double Cisse's price tag and at the time 12 mil seemed cheap for Cisse.

You would not say that if Cisse has settled quicker. Too early to tell (but having said that what I have seen so far, you are right, he is overvalued).

All I can say is read the Express:

''Wenger, long time admirer of Owen will be one striker down when bergkamp retires at season end'' etc.

But that ain't the point. The ff'in point is we have been taken to the cleaners yet again by Club's who are much more financially astute than our 'muppet' management.
Bring on Morgan (or Anybody else ) to shake these dosy plank's up.
