No doubt this will cause a few to get upset, but i’m sorry guys, i don’t believe Kenny has it in him to change us from mid table fodder into a title challenging team. We need new ideas, new methods and a long term plan to sort us out, from top to bottom.

Today wasn’t a one off, we’ve been poor a few times this season and our inconsistency is still there, as is our inability to score goals.

We need a manger who can work out how to battle through the lesser teams, we also need someone who won’t tell our players to HOOF the ball when plan A doesn't work...we also need a manager who wont be afraid to drop the likes of Carra.

But most of all, our club needs a new start, and it needs to start up top with the boss. Move Kenny back upstairs, and lets get someone who is on the up and ready to take the reins of our great club and make us great once more. Otherwise, mid table obscurity awaits us all.

I just don't see any progress. We were mid table under Roy and we're mid table now. It's not the big teams we need to beat, it's the likes of West Ham and West Brom.

I haven't seen any massive improvement in our play since Kenny came in. Yeah, we won some games, but then we've lost a huge amount too. Then there's our dismal performances in Europe too.

Champions league? You've got to be joking!

I know where you are coming from. I'm not sure if I agree with you, but as I said in the match thread:

Injuries and Soto and officials making debatable decisions aside, I think Dalglish is at fault for this performance and ultimately the result.

I'm sure if I look back I'll find posts in which I've complained about Hodgson playing Mereiles on the right instead of the centre. Dalglish's decision to play him on the left, again must be far less defensible, and has failed, again.

We spent most of the first half pumping long balls to Carroll, despite a back four that were not particularly under pressure. It obviously wasn't working, yet we continued all half with the same, presumably planned, tactic. Our best player, Suarez, never got a look in.

I'm sure Johnson going off made a difference to our attack, and certainly Kyriakos coming on made a difference to our defence, but the formation and tactics were wrong, right from the beginning.

Very disappointing from Dalglish IMHO.

I'll add to that, that bringing Cole on with 5 minutes to go seemed completely pointless - if you are going to make a change to win the game, you don't wait till then.

I guess in the end it depends who the owners get in, if it is not Kenny Dalglish. Whatever decision they make, the next man in has to get time to build a team, so they've got to make the right decision. The emotion and the turn around we've seen under King Kenny makes their decision even harder. He has made a difference, he has brought pride back to the club, and not through trading on his past with us, but through results.

I'm glad he has the job. I'm pretty sure I'll be happy if he gets it long term. How I'll feel if he doesn't get it permanently, I'm honestly not sure right now.

I'm not going to get too involved with this because we all know where it's going...

I'll simply state I disagree with you for a few reasons:

We have been one of the hottest clubs in the league since KK took over

It's still not his team, he only has Suarez and Carroll, Suarez being the best player on the team since he arrived and Carroll showing signs of his talent.

Injuries have completely plagued him with Dagger, Stevie, Kelly, now Johnson all out.

You say he needs to bench Carra and I could buy that except... For who? We brought on Soto and he was the reason for both goals against us.. We brought on Wilson and he just doesn't have experience. Sure he hoofs the ball but defensively he does a lot still.

You give KK the summer and see who comes to the club, let him start from the beginning and you will see the improvement.

Kewell, as I read over your two posts I've got to say that I think you've overstated your case a little:

1. I'm not sure that dropping Carragher has even been an option for much of the year given the injuries to our defenders!
2. And we've certainly improved - we were consistently worse under Hodgson.
3. And we've not lost a huge amount of games either. When he first arrived results weren't great, but then he'd barely got off the shuffle board court. Since then we've been on a pretty good run.

However in some recent game I don't think his formations have been getting the best out of current players, and that concerns me. The honeymoon is over and the next few games will be interesting to see how King Kenny and the players respond.

Whatever happens with Dalglish I do have the upmost confidence that he will do the right thing by the club if he is not getting results and walk away. I doubt we will have a situation with him where hes hanging about like a bad smell as the team goes from bad to worse like others we could mention. Maybe I am wrong but in my own mind I think he will put the club first and let someone else have a crack at it if hes struggling to move it on.

Your sounding like a hypocrite 7_Kewell, you were supporting Roy and blaming our quality of the squad before Kenny came to helm.

It is clear as daylight we have improved domestically under Kenny Dalglish, conceded far less goals and improved our home form. Let's face it our squad is poor, our defense and midfield is p!ss poor, without any improvement in the summer we will not progress, that is a fact.

Our inconsistency stems from the fact that we have a very average squad, its the same inconsistency that Rafa Benitez had when he first joined us.

Let's not knee jerk here, time will tell if King Kenny has it in him to challenge for the title and win the league. I'm confident we will win it with him

I'm not trying to knock Kenny, i'm trying to get some debate going about how our club moves forward. Next season will be so very important for the club seeing and it's vital we get things right in the dugout. I'm worried...hpoe i'm wrong, but i'm worried.

Hypocritical is harsh. 7_Kewell aired his doubts when (or just before) Kenny took over. If anything, he's being consistent. We were awful today but let's see who comes and goes in the summer. Still can't think of anyone else I'd rather see in charge.

I'm not trying to knock Kenny, i'm trying to get some debate going about how our club moves forward. Next season will be so very important for the club seeing and it's vital we get things right in the dugout. I'm worried...hpoe i'm wrong, but i'm worried.

Our club will move forward once we give Kenny a contract, invest in the team by buying quality wingers, midfielders and defenders.

I think we need to just get this season out of the way. Its been car crash from the start and its horrible to see out great club stumble like a drunk to the finish line. There have been, granted a few highs this season but not many and it will go down as one of our worst yet. But....

One good thing has come out of this season and thats Kenny Dalglish. I firmly believe that he is the right man to bring the good times back. The owners are going to invest in the squad during the summer and even though we will not be in Europe next year players will still want to come here, simply because our reputation.

Have faith and give this man a bit of a team to build HIS team and it will work.

It's not the manager we really need to look at changing.. It's the squad. I really felt the only players on the pitch that deserved to play for our club were Suarez and Reina (And Carroll, but it wasn't his best game and the ref sure wasn't helping him out). Other then Stevie, we need a whole new midfield. Defensively, I thought Skrtel did well for a change, but everybody else was below par and we can't have that.. I think Kelly and Johnson are really the only 2 we can happily look at for next season in the defense, we need a CB, a LB Charlie Adam and 2 wingers and then you'll see how great KK can be.
