Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Hello readers.  It’s nearly Christmas again and what should have been time
for the Evo annual i.e. the third instalment of my life and times following
my favourite footy team.  Sadly, because I had to stop writing between
February and July for reasons I can’t and won’t go into right now (maybe in
the fullness of time) I found it impossible to have the book ready for
Christmas sales.  It is, at 70,000 words, about three-quarters finished and
I could actually have put it out as a full book but that wouldn’t have been
right on you, the people who have made One Boy And His Kop and My Youth – My
Kop so successful.  I am now looking now at a February/March publication.

The good news though is further copies of both OBAHK and MYMK are now
available to those who missed out on the first and second print runs.  Even
if you didn’t miss out the books would make an ideal Christmas present for
the discerning LFC fan above the age of about 14 who haven’t got them.  Bit
of effy blindy in them you see so not really suitable for nippers.  You can
order the books by e-mailing me at peterevo75@hotmail.com or ringing me on
07900030435.  Each book costs £10 plus £3 postage for the UK and £5 anywhere
else in the world.  Part of the postage costs and also part of my profits
from the sale of each book will go into the OBAHK/MYMK charity fund.  The
OBAHK/MYMK charity fund has so far donated £6,000 to 16 different charities.
A lot of that money has gone to a cause that if it isn’t the closest to
all of our hearts then bloody well should be – The Hillsborough Justice
Campaign.

EVO SPECIAL OFFER! Order two or more books (they can be a mixture of OBAHK
and MYMK or two or more copies of the same book) and I will send them
post-free to anywhere in the world.  Please do feel free though to throw in
a shilling or two extra and contribute as generously as you wish to the
OBAHK/MYMK charity fund in that case.

The books are also available at several W.H. Smith’s outlets in Liverpool
and also at Waterstone’s.  Foyles in Charing Cross Road, London have a few
copies as do Sportspages in the same road.  Island books in Jersey and The
Isle Of Man have some.  It really is best buying direct from me though as I
make more lovely lolly that way and also none of the money from shop sales
goes into the charity fund.  You of course, that way, get the personal touch
of dealing with me and having the books signed with whatever message you
wish by my own fair hand!  Can’t say fairer than that can I?  If you really
do have to buy the book from a shop though please look no further than the
Hillsborough Justice Campaign shop at it’s brand, spanking new location
right opposite the Albert.  I make a £3 donation from the sale of each book
sold at the shop to the HJC.  Even if you don’t buy the books there please
visit the shop and support the people and staff there.  They are all really
nice people who will show you round the new premises and chat to you freely
about anything you wish.  Some of the memorabilia and souvenirs on sale at
the shop have to be seen to be believed.  Twice as good and at a fraction of
the price you would pay at Liverworld these goodies will make you the envy
of your friends.  If you see something you like and it’s a touch out of your
price range for the money you have in your pocket there and then make the
staff an offer.  I can assure you no reasonable offer is refused.  They’ll
even throw it all in a bag for you!

For the really personal touch of course you could actually buy the books
from me in person at any home or away match.  I’m normally around the
Shankly statue half-an-hour or so before each home game.  I stand under
Block 205 on the second level (not the lower level concourse) near the lifts
and snack bar in the Kop at half-time selling the books and getting shifty
looks from even shiftier policemen thinking I’m dealing something shady.
Slim Shady!  I think not – not the size of me; head the size of a rhino and
a belly to match!  You can also catch me in the Albert for a couple of hours
post-match and then the Stanley for another hour or so after that.  I only
go home when I’m drunk!  For away games you will normally find me in what is
the most popular away supporters pub.  In all cases though it would be good
if you could give me some prior notice by phone, text or e-mail of your
intention to seek me out and purchase my wares.  No problem if not though
just come and find me, I’m bound to have a few copies with me.

For those of you who have never heard of the books (and I want to know why
not!) OBAHK is the story of me growing up as a Liverpool fan and my life,
times, scrapes and scallies surrounding it.  The book covers the period from
1964 (I was only 10 – aaahhh!) up until 1973.  MYMK takes the story up to
1978.  The third book will probably conclude at about 1986 and subsequent
books will bring the story more or less up to date.

Both OBAHK and MYMK have received very good reviews from the good people of
the various LFC Forums.  These reviews and other of my writings can be
viewed on my site at www.oneboyandhiskop.co.uk

Good Luck to you all and I hope you all have a splendiferous Chrimbo.
