Really why? It's where we should be playing, no need to move if we can help it.

Agreed
I have been going there since I was a kid and never tire of the place. In fact I still get excited going through the turnstiles, going up the stairs and walking out and seeing the pitch, the crowd, the noise, the players coming out
Fu*king magic!

Love Anfield but its not the stadium that makes it the best place in the world to play/watch football its the supporters. If we build a new staduim the supporters will just turn that into the best stadium on the planet. I just think theres only so much renovating that can be done at Anfiled now and convincing the council that its the best thing to do might take another 2-3 years. Realistically how much bigger can we make Anfield? Imagine if we do bring the glory days back, in this day and age with clubs having much more of a global fanbase we could end up attracting upwards of 75,000 supporters a game. I reckon we could rebuild Anfield up to about 60,000 tops, thats potentially 15,000 tickets every home game wed be losing revenue from. All Ifs and Buts however its still worth thinking about.

Someone made a point that the such is the cost of a new staduim it could take 10 years to get the money back before we seen profit but hopefully Liverpool will be around for much longer then that. Plus a new stadium would really signal a new era has begun and attract better players wanting the chance to play in a magnificent new state of the art stadium thus helping us bring more success on the pitch which would generate more profits also.

Actually Pablo I pointed out that it would take at least 20 years to make enough money to justify building a new ground.  But my main point in that regard was that as of right now it makes a lot more sense to focus on increasing revenue from other sources.  The amount of increased revenue from an additional 20,000 seats falls way short of the revenue that could be made from other avenues.

i dont see how building a new stadium or redeveloping Anfield stops us looking into other avenues of revenue, surely we can do both.

its hard enough getting a match day ticket as it is, have you ever tried getting an adult/child ticket, whilst we stall on the stadium we are losing out on extra revenue and might even lose out on the next generation of fans who very rarely get a chance to go to a game.

yes i want a successful team but i would also like to watch them aswell. :D

Henry will do what it takes to rebuild Liverpool. I doubt whether we'll see a Man City style spending spree this summer but if Kenny gets the job long term whoever he and Comolli think is right the owners will make sure we get them.

Like many have said already, the Summer transfer window will give us a much better picture of FSG's ambition.

Redevelopment of Anfield is the way forward. If you look at what they did at Fenway, it could be very similar at Anfield but redevelopment of the surrounding area is also a must.  Given the huge worldwide money at stake, the difference between 60,000 and 75,000 is minimal.  Much more important is a fantastic atmosphere.  I'd rather have 60,000 packed in lifting the roof off, than 5 or 10 thousand empty seats in a cavernous stadium.  In going from 45,000 to 75,000 are you diluting the fan base too much to have a proper atmosphere?

Thing look like they're on the up, but I'm going to wait till Summer to see the true intent of the owners.

The skanks and the geordies both expanded on their original footprint.

Fox Soccer Channel just aired the full John Henry interview.  I'm sure it'll be on Youtube in about 30 seconds.  This man just instills confidence in the direction the club is heading.

I've never seen FSC hype a game as much as this one.  They have a lot of pro Chelsea people over there it seems, but the post match commentary was pretty objective.  I liked seeing the two sets of fans.  The Chelsea fans looked pathetic :-)  The Liverpool fans were going crazy signing and showing off tattoos!  :bowdown

Bit late but I hated the way SoS approached that letter they sent, Henry did the right thing with his response.  Give the guys a chance they haven't done anything wrong yet we have questioned them every step of the way and continue to do so, it's a shame.

im sure they fully understand how we feel after the actions of the previous owners, given time they will be be taken in but its what they do and not what they say that will do it, so far they are doing it the right way and long may it continue.

unlike man city Liverpool dont need that level of investment to be up there challenging so hopefully in the summer we will see more action in the transfer market, just as important is the issue of the stadium, a decision needs to be made soon in how we are going to go forward.

Dear Mr john henry and partners i would like to send you my heartfelt thanks for buying the world renowned institution that is Liverpool football club. When you ousted Gillet and Hicks i had my doubts, which what had happend in 3 years previous was understandable. You said watch what we do, not what we say. You have kept your word and installing kenny as manager was a masterstroke. You have spent and SOLD wisely without interference. But above all you have brought back my faith in football again and rekindled my love for LFC, not that it had gone but had faded. Now we are back to the Liverpool way and i face the future knowing the club is in good hands. You are true custodians of our great club. Thank you very very much. YNWA
