what he is proving is that he is better than poulsen who costed more than 4 millon, and much younger and playing with brazil. he is not great, we all agree that, but he still is a useful player who has space in any squad, not as an important player of course.

i'm better than poulsen

anyone know how long lucas has left on his contract? it can't be long so we could do with tying him down sooner rather than later.

Is this the same player that cynics used to ask 'Is he Brazilian?'

The lad's always put in a good job, understandably he's not a Gerrard, Alonso or even a Masher but now the lad has some space and the chance to lead, I'm not surprised folks are pleased with him.

Well done Lucas, keep going lad.

Well Reg, this particular "Cynic" asked that question as a thread starter Two and a half years ago.

I can now confirm that he is in fact Brazilian as it's on his passport.

Contrary to your assertion "The lad's always put in a good job" he has in fact been a major disappointment during his time with us (possibly second only to Babel in the "worst under achiever" stakes).

However, credit where credits due. Compared to the sh'ite served up by the rest of the team this season it would appear that he's actually put in some good performances in recent games. After two and a half years of waiting all this "Cynic" can say is "about f'ucking time"

Who knows ?, if he keeps it up, and I hope he does, other top sides along with Stoke will start banging on our door in an effort to sign him.

I hope we don't sell him, I am starting to appreciate the lad more and more.. I guess it helps that this is the best he's played for us since he has been here but I don't want him sold. :D  I think he should stay at the club for a long time.

how quick we adopt mediocrity in this club....oh well after watching Paulson even Lucas looks like Essien. I forgive you.

I am seriously looking forward to see how him and Meireles  play against Essien and Mikel on Sunday ,I think that Mikel is the one who keeps the Chelsea Midfield ticking over ,and for that reason his importance to the team  is vastly underrated   ...while Essien is allowed more freedom ....Lucas is playing well but whether he can neutralize this potent midfield force is open to question ..... I do however have shivers envisaging what Malouda could do to our hapless left back :(

I only caught the highlights last night but, was it my imagination, or did Lucas put in a really good challenge on a 50/50 ball to set Gerrard up for his 3rd?  Nice to see the lads working for each other in any case.
