When you've got a moderator with a picture like that under his posts, it says it all really. Deary me. ( the picture has been changed now )

This is still a Liverpool forum isn't it, we haven't been taken over by the Mancs and nobody has told me have they???

They'll love that picture on red Cafe. When they find out it was on a Liverpool forum they'll think it was even funnier  :no

Queue the "you should get a sense of humour" barrage from the posse.

I know you're joking Daws, but what would have happened? A picture of rafa following a sign marked "mid table obscurity" down a hill on a pair of skiis? Feck me his feet wouldn't haver touched the ground  .

Roy is the manager though and i don't see him changing his approach.  If thats his system... i think he'll stick to it.

Personally, i just don't think it provides any sort of attacking outlet.  And i think the defence is a lot weaker as a result.  so you're right about nullifying our strengths and maximising our weaknesses.

Funny image.  :D

when i say change of system i'm talking about pushing 10-15 yards higher up the pitch all over the field rather than anything drastic. i'm sick of watching us dropping back to the edge of our own penalty area against average sides, especially at home.

Yeah me too but i think Roy wants us to play that far back.  And i don't see him changing that.  (which would be a mistake).

I've seen the team improve in terms of attacking fluidity as joe cole is now more settled with playing for us and also the inclusion of Meireles. However, the defensive side of the team hasn't improved and that's where we let ourselves down in our last 2 games... it remains to be seen whether the players will come to terms with Roy's defensive philosophy or even whether this philosophy is in itself the right philosophy...

I would have to say though that the reluctance to use Agger before Skrtel seems to be one of the most puzzling decisions that Roy has so far made. Soon enough some people are gonna say that Agger is not good enough, which is of course absurd...

Not the reluctance to use agger instead of skrtel. The reluctnance to drop carra IMO. We need to rest him more, he is getting caught out to often. No sentiment, even taggart drops red nev.

Totally agree.

Problem is Carra is a "legend" so he just can't be dropped, even tough both Agger and Skrtel are better and Carra has been on a slide for almost 2 years now.

Carra is clever enough to know when the time comes for him to step aside he will. But it's not like we are pushing for the league or the CL and it's not like we have a raft of talent banging on the door either. For the time being he should hold his place.

good post,an opinion mate cause i totally agree with you on that.

last night summed that up for me,even away from home we played far,far to deep,it invited trouble- fwiw i couldn't believe the amount of gap there was between the midfield an attack,so as a result when we did go foward or have a chance of creating anything going foward there wasn't enough support or urgency to hurt the oppo. the classic example was time an time again throughout the game torres found himself being dragged back to try an get into the game or find a pass was concerning for me.

i found myself on countless times shouting -get foward, push up the park, go foward as a team, support the man with the ball etc was frustraiting to say the least.
