My thoughts on the game

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Utd have a stronger core of players to intergrate with new sugnings. How often has one of their old skool delieverd the goods when the new players at Utd go missing, we simply do not have that core. Its the same with chelsea the taem inherited by Mourinho is infinatly better than the one Gh left Rafa. Yes there are problems and lots to work on but what was going to happen, what were your expectations StMike. The top three teams and by that I mean the ******, Chelski and the scum are miles ahead of us at the mo. We were never going to match Arsenal this season and whats worse losing points away from home or losing them at anfield like we did under GH. IMo we have solved a major problem that GH never managed to in all his time in charge and that is to break teams down at Anfield if Rafa can solve that then I have faith that the others such as defending set-pieces will also be solved.

agreed for once. i blame this zonal marking boll*x. marking spaces instead of players. too risky if u ask me.we dont need 5 midfielders either. esp. if 2 of them are poo. Baros should have been with cisse.

we've los too many points already to challenge for the title or 3rd spot in my book.

He must of changes it cause we were poo against olimpiacos.
you have to say though that, generally, we look a better side, pass the ball around better than we did last yeay with Murphy etc, who idd not have a clue. I still dont think we are gonna get in the top 4 this time out.

Only good thing kewell done today was head the ball out the goal apart from that he was sh#te, Risse was sh#te, Kirkland was a nervous wreck, and garcia seemed very lightweight. :(
We actually defended quiet well but where are the goals going to come from away from home?
Houllier said today he advises Michael owen to make a quick return to us, well he better bloody come in january im sick of it now   2 shots on bloody goal wtf is that :glare:

If we had started with the best players on the books we would have struggled. He then decides to introduce Traore and Diao at Stamford Bridge. It was not a good decision because they are both abysmal players. This system with these players is not working on the road. It may have worked with the array of talent at Valencia, but its not happening with what we have. If anyone had played well, and they never, again, it may have given us something from the match. But they where utterly clueless and without inspiration. It was a carbon copy of each of the other away fixtures  ???

Too early to say how this team will fare really, weve got a load of easy fixtures to start the season at home anyway,.  when we start playing better teams, then we will see how we fare.

under houllier we would always pick a considerable more points up away from home than at home so what's the difference? points are points, it doesn't matter where you get them. ???

We were all screaming for a more attacking philosophy at home and we have got that under the new management when he begins to find a plausable way of playing away we will have the solid base of Anfield to start picking up points. Take the Champs league for an example if we keep on wilnning our home games and pick up the odd away point we qualify. Its a platform if you like.

I can take them losing away but the manner in which they have has become frustrating. Where is the fight when they most need it? Fighting till the end has got the mancs out of scrapes this season and it was a old addage of ours to never say die until the very last second. A bit more heart is needed soon in the side.
