He cost us close on £28million and expects to go to barca for £12M is he on drugs or summin!

I doubt he refused to play. His head wouldn't have been in the game and the risk of him getting injured wouldn't have helped matters.

He's gone if Barca cough up the dough, and who could blame him?

I seriously hope thats true. Without any decent offers which is at least 25million + player he is not going anywhere . An ideal plan would be him staying for another year and get the team to a top 4 finish .

He let his friends, fans and the club down. What was he thinking? Seriously the whole world knew he wanted out... it's not like the manager didn't want to sell him or let him rot in the reserves.. Lost my respect towards the man.

Sell Mascherano, yes. Buy Cattermole, no :no

Someone pointed out somewhere that he has four red cards and he's not 23 until March. Not many wikipedia listed players have "discipline" as one of their stats, he does which says it all. 43 yellows, 4 reds in only 149 games. He's reached the magical 10 yellow card tally in two seasons, doesn't that come with an automatic ban? (can't remember how many matches)

Where did you get that figure from? Is that including a loan fee or something, because the figure I see is usually in the region of £18.6m.

All these discussions for a 'replacement' for Mascherano is meaningless as Roy Hodgson has already got Poulsen to replace him. We need to look at other positions for players. For example, a left back and maybe a winger or a striker.

Lando mate, he has refused, you can read between the lines in Roy's comments and Roy has been diplomatic about it. Its an insult to the club, fans and to the shirt.

Can you blame him though? The clubs going no where dont be suprised to see a few more leave by the time the transfer window shuts. And no replacments brought in.
He can win things at Barca he wont be winning nothing here.

Cigs mate, I don't think he is leaving because he isn't winning, its more personal than career. Even if we are winning trophies he would still want to leave and he acted like a man with no morals yesterday when he told Roy he doesn't want to play.
