Some in depth analysis there from our more intuitive  Posters
I think  the Lad will be a vital cog in a well oiled machine, and I have more than an inkling Roy has the same beliefs ...
Don't know whether I have mentioned that before ???

He's always going to be a player that divides opinion and once supporters have come down one side or the other they're unlikely to budge. The thing is, he doesn't have any blatant weaknesses that can't be amended but he still has the scope to improve almost everywhere. I think we'll see that this season with Mascherano gone.

The fact is, it doesn't really matter what the lad does. To some of our supporters he'll always be a whipping boy. And as for all this nonsense about pass completion, it's not about playing it 5 yards, 15 yards, sideways, backwards, sideways etc. It's about playing the right pass and whether you like it or not Lucas plays the right pass more often than not. Ok it may not be glamorous but it's certainly better than the more talented players in our side giving possession away constantly by trying to hit hollywood balls or pass through the eye of a needle all the time.

Unless we were to make our money back on Lucas then there is no point in even contemplating selling him. He has grown into a decent CM and is still very young. I still believe that a more advanced MF role would suit him better than sitting deep; but I cannot see how he will get that chance with so many MF's at the club now!

Unless we were to recoup what we paid for him then he has to stay. He is a valuable squad player who may end up playing more than many of us would expect.

I think he's a weak link in our starting 11, I don't think Roy will use as much as some think. :D
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

Pretty much agree, people are so keen to sell players just because they don't like them when in fact we need a SQUAD and won't have the money that selling someone for not a lot will make available to replace them ie whatever you sell Lucas for is what you have to replace him with.
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

Just walked in to Sammy Lee's office. Caught him in just his boxers singing 'Uptown Girl' into a marker pen. Wish I'd knocked.

Although im not the biggest fan of Lucas and his tendancy to 'disappear' in games, I am a massive fan of his attitude.

Nothing negative seems to phase him. He just gets on with it and always tries his best. If we had boo'd Mascherano for a string of bad games he would have probably handed in a transfer request.

I love you Lucas Leiva :) Great spirit

I thought when Lucas came on he took a couple of Mins to adapt to the pace of the game ,but after that he made a couple of good solid interceptions and tackles and  his intuitive pass for Torres could have very well won it for the Reds ...

Other than the time he went a wander from his marker inside the box, he did well. Made two or three important tackles and near the end played a lovely ball through for Torres, who was roughly five yards ahead of him, but he didn't make anything of it when you might well have expected him to.
