Hopefully none of the players we are signing actually read forums, or it'd be embarrassing to be totally honest. We are almost certainly going to need a replacement for Masherano, we get one for 4.5 million quid who is a proven performer in the Champions League and International football, and he's a terrible signing  ??? Why don't people at least wait until he's had a couple of games before they slag him off, absolutely unbelieveable :no

Yup, we know it's early but...

We could be making some room in our wages for another big signing - at least we can hope....

I was thinking something similar, plus with all these signings now, I reckon Roy will blow what he's given from the Mascha sale on one decent striker. I hope so anyway.
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

Well Done Roy

Another International player in our ranks at a fraction of the price of the player he is replacing..

Welcome to Liverpool Christian.. Walk On
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Lets hope he is given the full amount and not a percentage of it .

4.5 millions sounds a bit better than 6 millions but I believe most on here are concerned about whether the money is well spent if it was 6 millions given that we are skint, need a striker desperately and considering the age of the player we're paying 6 million for and the position which is deemed not too urgent. It's not that most people are not 'giving him a chance'...

Exactly that - he is a decent player - nothing special , nothing out of the ordinary and will prob do a job for us but dont believe he adds anything we dont already have .

It seems the 4.5 is over two installments of 2.2 then 2.3 next year !!

So we cant afford the fork out even the whole amount in one go .

Where is this 15 million budget then .

A little bit of confusion here from the usual suspects. There is a difference in rating a player when you've actually seen him play for us, and calling a player a terrible signing before he's even kicked a ball and you know very little about him. The negativity on here really is quite bemusing at the moment, and people can't seem to grasp the concept that we haven't got any money and that Roy is having to wheel and deal to make it all work. It appears to me he has been told there is absolutely no money to spend, and he is using the Masherano money extremely wisely thus far.

If you contrast the reception Poulsen is getting with that of some previous signings, it's funny it really is. We sign a proven player, a bloke who has made his name in three of the major leagues in Europe as well as in 77 Internationals, who has a game which is almost certain to be tailor made for English football and it's a terrible buy at 4.5 million quid. The manager is a fool for replacing a high profile departure at a fraction of the cost, a mug for signing a player who he knows personally extremely well, an idiot for taking a man who he knows the character of like the back of his hand.

How things used to be different. When we signed an injured Italian for 20 million quid it was a "masterstroke" as he could do "all that Alonso could do and more." As time has gone on and it has proven to be a disasterous signing, they still bang on about him and tell us that he "will prove his worth this season".

Don't tell me about irony :D Infact stop it, you're cracking me up you lot

I agree over the keeper from Boro. Unless we are pulling in 3m for our current second choice keeper I would be dissapointed with that kind of money going in on a lad that will likely play no more than 10 games a season in our less imporatnat matches. We have a history of this sort of thing with goalkeepers and not sure why we cant try and get experienced cover in on a free or something, it seems such a waste of resources.

Who has called anyone a idiot a mug or a fool anywhere - people have seen him and still dont rate him ? how many times have you seen him play yourself ?

People think its a waste of money due to them thinking there is already enough options in that area and us being extremely weaker in other areas on the pitch . Its an opinion they are entitled too . Some think is isnt good enough and is an average player at age where he isnt going to improve .

Being proven in the spanish league means nothing as we have found out previously - in the italian league he couldnt get into the Juve team ahead of Momo .

What did you think we he was linked to us last summer or the summer before - where you thinking what a great signing he would be ?

I have a feeling Hodgson could sign Djemba Djemba and you would think it is a great signing because at the moment the current boss can do no wrong in your eyes .

I think you're rewriting history, from my recollection most people seriously questioned the Aquilani transfer asking how we could be signing an injury prone player for £20m who wasn't going to be fit to start the season even.

Granted, more now see potential in him, doesn't necessarily mean exactly what you're spinning it out as, as a "masterstroke" signing.
