the problem is that we need to field at least 11 players to meet the legal requirements of the game...

It's only the rats that are leaving though Andy. The real big lads, the ones who we are going to do something with this season are on board, that's the main thing  :;):.

But was it a suprise , He could go to Inter and he could not, He could go to whoever feels Javier will benefit there team, or he could go to a team that he thinks yep ill enjoy playing for him, they play the type of football i like to play, So the feather is still floating in the air for me,  :;):

I'm sure he is off, too many reports and quotes suggesting he wants out. Contrast to the Torres situation where there have been no direct quotes and only press speculation.

Mascherano is a footballing mercenary, he is always looking for a pay rise. Hence why he tried to manoeuvre a move to Barcelona last year under Benitiez.

hmm hate to shoot you down like but if Torres wanted a pay rise you know where he'd be right?

Masch wants to team up with Rafa again, he's quoted as saying so and his missus is a silly bint

I forgot Torres settled for a mere 120k a week because of the kindness of his heart and his love for the club.

The whole teaming up with Benitez is a smoke screen. He wants out of Liverpool, end of - probably driven by his wife.

Nothing to do with Benitez whatsoever.

If he loved the guy so much he wouldn't of tried to manufacture a move to Spain last year would he?

Its possible to have more than one factor influencing his decision.

Obviously Benitez alone was not enough to make him stay, but he might still like the guy. Not that it really matters one bit.

Goodbye and good riddance to the lad.

I read a stat today that we are infact unbeaten in our last 20 Premiership games without Mascherano in the side anyway.

Spain U-19s have a CM/DM called Thiago Alcantara, plays for Barca aparently. Very, very good prospect from what I've seen - bossed the game against England, and a player part-exchange possibility if Barca come in for Masch. There's also an attacking midfielder called Iker Muniain who's only 17 and plays for Bilbao who I like the look of, and their midfielder Canales has exceptionally good passing and movement; in fact most of them with the exception of the LB, the two CBs and a bloke called "Romeo" looked very good. Blitzing the competition this lot are and I think at least a couple of them will be big names in 3-4 years time.
