JAVIER MASCHERANO - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

If Benitez's offer isn't enough, it will be rejected. Mascherano won't be leaving on the cheap.

As for a replacement, how about Gareth Barry? Well, Man City are overloaded with players, so I'm sure they can afford to part with him. Yes, I am aware we would be accumulating England midfielders!

Mascherano is replaceable and we can get a good replacement for half the fee we will receive. The only players we desperately need to hang onto are Reina and Torres.

He doesn't have the last word, but of course a coach in continental europe is asked before spending an important amount of money.

I don't like much Rafa wanting Liverpool key players, to be honest.

Mascherano wanting to go there means that not every serious player was AntiRafa, though, otherwise he wouldn't consider to go there.

dont see the point in hanging onto him if he wants to leave, but on saying that he has to accept that the club deserve the to get the right price for him, so untill that happens he goes nowhere, well done on that score Roy your spot on.

Rafa and Inter the ball is clearly in your court, pay up or fook off. :D

Marco branca does the negotiating for players at inter . Rafa has probably said he would like mascherano no doubt but it's entirely down to branca the fee negotiated with LFC . Rafa will have no say in that . Anyway i thought all the players wanted to get a way from rafa , not friggin sign for him again

Definitely liking the way in which Roy is handling this, he has sent a clear message to Rafa or any other manager we will not be held to ransom over Masch's true value. He has been a very good player for us in the last few seasons and I wish him all the best if/when he does move on. Not sure if we will get 35 million for him but hopefully what ever we do get (20-25 million IMO) will be given to Roy to strengthen further.
REST IN PEACE PHIL!

Roy has said on the record that he needs to buy TWO left backs.

An thats why i cant understand everyone jumping on his case ,out of all the players apart from Pepe last season when Javier was on the pitch he looked like he gave a s.*i*e , he tried , he played he never put his head down he never sulked, just got on with what he does best, im sorry but some of yu lot need to have a word with yourselves the way yous are carrying on , He wanted out last season , stayed and done all of the things ive mention above, im gutted he has gone ,i was expecting last season to be his last one here , but i wish him no ill will , because when he pulled that shirt on he gave his all,
So were ever you go Javier lad good luck,

Have to agree with that, Reina apart, Mash was our best player last season and the only one on the field who looked as though he actually gave a f.uck.
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)
