Nanny's pick isn't daft either. He'd bring some experience and quality to proceedings.

Who was that baldy left back who played in the world cup for Argentina . hes only young , played one game i think , gonna be a cracking player him, can defend ,got bags of pace and great going forward ,can stick a good ball in an all and looks hard as nails, one to look out for imo.

And as far as Bridge goes id take Warnock over him any day of the week

Me n'all. I'll tell you another fecking great player, that moppy topped fella who played left back against us for Benfica. LFC said his name the other week but I'm fecked if I can remember it now. His hair looks a bit like that Carlos Valderama bloke.

The thing is im looking down the line here , a 30 year old left back llike Capdevilla as i mentioned would only be a sort of stop gap for me in my opinion, couple of seasons out of him at the most just while were waiting for our own young exiting prospect to push on, Young Jack Robinson is gonna be great has the lot this kid to fit in perfectly for years as our permanant left back , Sadly our urgency has come just a little bit to soon. for him. Ive watched him play a few times and he got thrust into the team last season and never let himself down at all, i was made up with what i seen from him, bright future ahead of him that lad,

Bugging me trying to think of the nameof that Argie now , im gonna have to google the Argie team ha ha

I like the Portuaguese LB and I forgot how his name was spelled. Mireiles or something and he was awesome flying up and down on the left side in the world cup. Maybe a bit light weight but looked really good in the world cup. I read City might be looking at him. Just hope no Bridges please. Don't want news about our players screwing his gf.. :D

Bridge would be a no for me.

He has been shown up a few times and lacks consistency. Not the worst left back in the world but im sure there are better out there that we could get. Anyway isnt he on about 90,000 a week at City - there is no way he will be paying him that!

If that Salcido is available for 2 million then its a no brainer for me.
Very good player and that is peanuts.

I've mentioned this guy a few times before and it seems like a good time to mention him again. That kid from CSKA Moscow Schenikov... or something.I mentioned earlier that we shouldnt rely on youngsters so much (since this kid is 18 or 19) but he really impressed me with his games in the Champions League last season so I wouldnt mind signing him.He shoulndt be that expensive, but since he's 18 he'll have to prove that he can handle being in the starting 11, so I'd play Agger on the left and him as a sub untill we are convinced that he can be a starting regular, and that I belive will be a fast process.

bigmick wrote:Honestly I think Bridge would be a HUGE mistake. I don't know what's wrong with the bloke (apart from John Terry and half the Chelsea squad tubbing his bird obviously, I suppose that would distract you a bit in fairness) but for me he's gone. He is pacelss and has developed an almost Skyrtelesque penchant for ball watching. I really think we should avoid him. By all accounts he's a bit of a c... as well, which isn't really important I suppose (whereas Joey Cole is apparently from many who know him "the nicest geezer you could ever meet, an absolute fackin diamond"). Salcido did look good in the World Cup, although each time he gets over the half way line he has a shot which would no doubt get annoying after a while.

I watched a few Wigan re-run matches in their entirity though while I was in NZ (the time just flies by there) and honestly, Figeroa is a really good player in my opinion. I really do think some people will be surprised by how good he actually is when they properly watch him. Out of all the left backs mentioned so far, he'd be far and away my first choice.

I've got a higher opinion of Bridge, no doubt it has helped him over the years playing in a very good Chelsea defence but I don't think he's been an England international purely by default ie. England's lack of LB talent. He's not the world's quickest player but i'd say he's no more one-paced than Stevie Finnan in his pomp. not sure where you heard the comments about him being a c...t but I can assure you he's a good lad. He's a Winchester lad and he used to train at a couple of gyms I worked in when he was still playing for Southampton, he even popped into a couple of parties me and my flat-mate had back in the day. He's not the brightest but a nice lad all the same. I think injuries have blighted his progress a bit the past couple of seasons but i'd still take him over Konchesky who i don't particularly rate.

Figeroa is an interesting one and I wouldn't be averse to someone like him coming in. He's been a regular points scorer in my fantasy premier league team the past couple of seasons!

That's a pretty good point there! Hadn't really thought about the money aspect. I think that pretty much rules Bridge out!

I like Bridge, but as many have pointed out there is a question of fee and wages as well as question marks over how good he is and a bit of baggage

I'd like Warnock back, but I'm not confident we'd get him back at a reasonable price. Certainly he ticks enough boxes, not least a good LB and the homegrown box. Should have no motivational issues playing for us, no great desire to go and play abroad and unlikely to attract foreign interest.

£4m-£6m and I'd go for it, less would be a bargain. Failing that maybe we need to dig up a gem from nowhere.
