Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Anyone who thinks Masch will stay is mad, he wanted to leave last summer and has made it common knowledge he wants to go as well as his wife not liking England.

Get £25m+ and get rid.

Get rid of Masch for £25+.  Get Parker in.  At his age we may only get two good seasons out of him, possibly three but at least we know hes a proven premiership player and is fluent in english so should settle quickly into his role.

I thought that given how soon the Argies got knocked out that he would have been the first to speak with Roy. But he isn't even replying to his calls? Get rid of him, the guy is a mercenary.

I suppose now that barca have given up on Fabregas they can afford the 25 or 30 for Masch.

Unfortunately the not returning calls routine is a calculated move in order to advertise to the World that Liverpool are in a very weak bargaining position. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we end up getting seriously striped on the fee, and for once it won't be the boards fault, the blame will lie squarely at the feet of Masherano and his agent. What we have on our hands is a player who quite clearly doesn't want to play for us, and under those circumstances a 15 million pound bid if it's the only game in town will have to be taken.

It shows you the calibre of the people you are dealing with when his agent claims not to know the trigger release fee in the contract. Presumeably Masherano doesn't know it either, or he didn't get a copy of his contract after he signed it . No, what we have on our hands is a mercenary. A mercenary who when he realised a move wasn't forthcoming last season, pulled his finger out in order to ensure his participation in the World Cup, and a better chance of a better move.

Not returning phonecalls and texts is much more than rude, it is a calculated move, no doubt co-ordinated wit the club which ends up buying him in order to drive the price down and his signing on fee up. there's absolutely nothing we can do about it of course, but it doesn't make it any less annoying.

If it is the case that not returning the manager's phone calls undermines our bargaining position then surely Roy is to blame for making that fact public knowledge? :D :;):

I'm not over the moon with Torres and SG making us wait to see if they will 'grace' Anfield with their presence come August!

But Mash is just showing his true colours
If he thinks he can force the club to accept a knock down fee because he's acting like the :censored: he is, the club should show him who the governor really is! Make the ungrateful :censored: stay if a £30ml offer isnt forthcoming.
He needs first team football so I don't see him not trying next season.
We need to nip this treating LFC like some second rate outfit in the bud.
Make the :censored: tow the line and regret the day he disrespected LFC!

Lets not be too hasty in our judgement. If its a Virgin phone the b@stards have probably cut him off !

if all the stuff we have been reading is true then it looks fairly certain that he's off.bit disapointed with the carryon from him too.his agent is a complete tool so wouldnt be surprised if he has a hand in this.
if we let him go it has to be nothing less than £30mil.he is no1 at what he does on the pitch and is an international captain and to let him leave for less would be stupid.
30 mil would buy two decent players to boost the squad.
we could get turan and warnock for that, two players that would improve us no end.
the board is probably relying on him to go so they can provide a transfer budget to roy.
if he really wants to go then selling him now is the best option.

A bad move by Roy.  He has made himself look quite silly and weakened our position as the selling club. Should have kept his mouth shut.
