Read yesterday the italians are cooling their interest as they won't cough up £30m. Shame we didn't buy one or two more argies before the World Cup, like Tevez, as I reckon their price could rocket if/when they win the World Cup

That little Argie full back with the baldy head Rodriges i think his name is . Played in the last game, Cracking player who i think will be in a bigger club next season. I loved him. great talent

For god sake, Still no manager and still players linked to leaving. If we dont let him go he will be awful, i say hold out for 30m then let the bugger go. Not that he isnt a great player for us but his head is going to be elsewhere.

Even if the new guy only gets 15m from the sale to spend its better than having an unhappy player and no money to spend

As I've said a couple of times, players wanting to leave was always going to happen once we didn't qualify for the ECL slots. Masher is a great player, but what with his wife not settling and all that stuff, we're probably going to have to listen to offers for him.

Now that Barcelona have lost their destroyer Toure to Man City I would not be surprised to see them move in for Mash as a replacement. Linked before and I would assume he would be keen on the switch.Money shouldnt be too big a stumbling block for Barca either.

Javier Mascherano's agent has hinted the Liverpool midfielder is keen to be reunited with Rafa Benitez at Inter Milan.

Former Reds boss Benitez has made Mascherano one of his top transfer targets as he begins life in charge of the UEFA Champions League holders.

Mascherano's future at Liverpool has been the subject of speculation for some time with the player yet to sign a new deal at Anfield.

The Argentina international's Italian representative, Marco Piccioli, believes Mascherano's relationship with Benitez could help persuade the player to swap the Premier League for Serie A.

"I know Javier and Benitez have a great relationship. Sometimes that's not enough but we will see," Piccioli said.

"A deal can only happen towards the latter part of the transfer market, that's my vision at least."

I think he will go, more likely to than Gerrard and Torres.

agree. but i think its a weird connumdrum. When he was here, Rafa wouldn't have sold him for less then £30m. Rafa obviously knows this but now he's boos of Inter, he doesn't want to pay that....

In and Out wrote:Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has revealed they have turned their attention from Javier Mascherano to Felipe Melo.

The Nerazzurri were being strongly linked with Mascherano, who almost left Liverpool for Barcelona last summer, and initial discussions had begun with the Argentinian midfielder's camp.

However, the Italian champions have baulked at Liverpool's asking price for the 26-year-old, thought to be around £25million.

Instead, Moratti admits they are now weighing up a move for Juventus midfielder Melo, who like Mascherano is currently on World Cup duty.

Intriguing
"Mascherano is a strong player, but it is unlikely that he will arrive," he said.

"He simply costs too much and it is not certain that Liverpool will sell.

"Melo is an intriguing idea and one that we are working on."

The Brazil international, also 26, could be made available as he has struggled to hit top form since his £20million move to Juve from Fiorentina last summer.

This. ^ Inter don't even want to pay £25m for him.

Rafa would have rejected a £25m offer if he was here - so inter know that they are priced out of the market, before they start....

The difference is Rafa isn't setting the prices anymore and believe the club would take 20 mil for a player who wants to leave - it shows the situation we are in when a player like Milner will prob cost more than masher and maybe even gerrard if he leaves

Not so sure mate we the amount of money we owe and how big the repayments are - 20 mil is a lot to turn down for them mate - no matter what lakes says I still believe the owners have a say in things

i understand benny. I do. And I can see exactly where you're coming from. It's just my personal belief that the previous manager, the current manager and the board would hold out for more money for Mash, and would not let him go, even for a firm offer of £20m. But that's just me personal opinion like :)

The problem is we need the money, assuming he is sold, to buy new a new player or two, we may HAVE to take £20m but I agree it's not enough.

He is in the £30m bracket for me.

Dictate the terms as, "if you only want to pay £20m that's fine, you just make up the other £10m with a player of that value in our eyes"
