Looks as though Masch is out then

What im most worried about though is weather this money that we generate from his sale will be available for our next manager to spend on replacing him.

these people on our club's board got rid of Rafa for one purpose... And that is they can do whatever they want with our squad. And that is also why they don't budge when Kenny let it be known that he wanted the job.

off, these people running the club got no ambition whatsoever for the club. All they care about is to make money off of the club in the short run. Once Mash leaves, amd then Gerrard leaves, Torres will definitely ask to leave. Torres came to liverpool to play alongside the likes of Gerrard, Alonso, Mash. Why would the best striker in the world want to play in a team if the likes of kuyt and Lucas are the best players?

Good celebrations when Rafa left yeah?

Oh yeah and what happened to lakes claim that the players are more likely to leave if Benitez stayed? That's a good one yeah? Now it seems like the players wanted to follow benitez more than being unhappy with Benitez... :laugh:

Purslow and Broughton didnt come to Anfield to grow the football business, they came to sell it. Diferent agenda, all future planning went out of the window. Hence Rafa left.

No one has said that the Mascherano money will go towards the debt, i think this will be a case of wait and see who the manager is and what he will want to do.

Was three posts of nothing particularly worth reading really necessary?!? You could easily edit your first post with afterthoughts, or perhaps slow down and not post before you've had a thought full stop

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has revealed they have turned their attention from Javier Mascherano to Felipe Melo.

The Nerazzurri were being strongly linked with Mascherano, who almost left Liverpool for Barcelona last summer, and initial discussions had begun with the Argentinian midfielder's camp.

However, the Italian champions have baulked at Liverpool's asking price for the 26-year-old, thought to be around £25million.

Instead, Moratti admits they are now weighing up a move for Juventus midfielder Melo, who like Mascherano is currently on World Cup duty.

Intriguing
"Mascherano is a strong player, but it is unlikely that he will arrive," he said.

"He simply costs too much and it is not certain that Liverpool will sell.

"Melo is an intriguing idea and one that we are working on."

The Brazil international, also 26, could be made available as he has struggled to hit top form since his £20million move to Juve from Fiorentina last summer.

Moratti insists strike pair Mario Balotelli and Diego Milito will not be leaving Inter this summer, though.

Brazilian right-back Maicon could follow Jose Mourinho to Real Madrid, however, as new Inter coach Rafa Benitez begins the unenviable task of following Mourinho's Treble-winning success with Inter last season.

Maybe more than £25m is above and beyond their spending restrictions. £30m is the asking price, cough up or shut up. It's about time FIFA/UEFA did something about this dirty tactic of clubs voicing opinions over asking prices, stating publically they want or are going to get a player, because they are unresting a player and they shouldn't even be discussing it until a bid has been made AND accepted.

I did consider a while ago that perhaps the best way forward in transfers is to have them agreed through UEFA. That is to say bids for players are sent to UEFA, passed to the relevant club and the club then sends back a reply with "accepted" or "refused" and also the asking price. If further bids don't meet the asking price then UEFA reject them anyway, any bids or contact made by a different route (to club or player direct, or via the media) results in a heavy penalty if the club is found guilty. You won't clamp down on all the dirty tactics, but having clubs stating they don't like the asking price or it is "too much" is nothing more than trying to garner support for their bid and inviting people to comment on what they think the fee should be. It is the asking price, that is the point. Don't like it, don't bid.

They should be more worried about what Rafa might do to their club!

I read on the football italia website that the club are holding out for at least 30 million; they also pointed out that inter are caught by the balls because rafa wanted 50 mill last yr !!!

Looks like the little chief 's wife might have to learn english after all
