International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

I'm also disappointed that a manager of Fabio's class and experience is pairing Gerrard and Lampard in midfield. Playing Emile Heskey who couldn't hit a barn door with a sub-machine gun and who decided to play a clearly unfit James Milner only to bring on SWP, what ever happened to Joe Cole?

He who doubts Germany is an idiot.

The Germans in every tournament are always hardly spoken about, but their record at reaching finals is undeniably good. 2002 Runners up, 2008 Runners up, I certainly won't be taking them lightly. I hear we'll end up playing either Ghana or Germany, I am relishing the prospect.

They do, but Australia have been poor defensively. Both of those were preventable, particularly the second one.

The first one maybe but the second one??

A brilliant pin point cross and a bullet header?

Germany look very organised, as always but Ozil has really stepped up. They can't handle him at all. Wern't we linked with him a few months ago? Would be made up if we got him here, looks a classy player! A German Messi..

I had Ozil in my fantasy football but took him out for Bastian... should have left him in. Only bad thing with him is he gets booked often, it's the Turkish half of him coming out. :D

Even Muller looks decent. You wouldn't think they had just lost their skipper to injury either. Great goal by Podolski btw... first time we have seen a decent long range effort with this jumbomumbo ball.

Yeah Australia look like they about to implode. I can see Lucas Neil getting sent off.

Agree, always nice to see him get sent off but as far as the decison goes it was the wrong one. Were they not also saying before how many red cards this fella gave out last season?

Haven't had a bad word to say about the refs so far at this world cup but that was a very bad decision.

He looks a handy player doesn't he.  :D

I wonder what the odds were on Klose, Podolski and Cacao all getting a goal. Maybe Gomez too...
