Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Owzat wrote:Reckoning is Mascherano is Rafa's number one target. Not so keen on the suggestion of £33m for him AND Kuyt, start bidding at £30m just for Mascherano and hands off Kuyt. I can only assume that is £23m-£25m for Mascherano, £8m-£10m for Kuyt, I doubt Kuyt would suit Serie A anyway. Either way it isn't enough, they are worth a minimum £40m combined, but we'll let Rafa have them for a minimum £50m since he owes us £6m not including lost income for a cr ap season

Don't you mean we own him 10mil?  :Oo:

Let Mascherano go if he wants to. Last season was his worst at the club and his moaning recently about his troubles at Anfield was enough to confirm he should go if that's what he really wants.

must be some mistake, Rafa use to bang on in press conferences about how good he was. Must be a matter of time before a 15 million bid comes in from inter..

Here's a question...
Does anybody have footage of how the guy used to play before he was brainwashed by Rafa into playing the Rafa-way ?
I wonder if the shackles were loosened a bit would he develop the potential he had back at Gremio ?

He did look good .....Youtube link

Lucas should be playing further up the pitch but now we have Aquilani as well so it will be interesting to see where he plays under whoever comes in next. But with Masch probably on his way out we will probably see the same old Lucas.

He says Rafa might say what type he wants and Branca (?) would get the player, not Rafa. Sounds ropey to me as a system,

Its the way most continental clubs work especially the top ones. From what I hear there are two people at inter who have more say over transfers than rafa, one youve mentioned, the name of the other escapes me at the mo.

If Mascherano wants to go then let him although i would keep Kuyt. In my opinion Mascherano plays for himself rather than the team and would go to whoever the highest bidder may be.

Masha plays for himself ay ?... what matches have u been watchin. There is no better Midfield stopper than him in the world. He proved it with us and now with Argentina.. he and Veron were awesome yesterday.. (v Nigeria)

You can't play for yourself in that role..

He was talking about him playing for us Zara not Argentina. Also Argentina doesn't pay his weekly wage.  :D

Come on Zara his attitude in the last year has been disgusting. Rafa takes him from a no hoper at West Ham to the point where the top teams in Europe are chasing him and he asks to leave a year after signing a new contract just because his bird can't be arsed to learn English? His sulking in the first part of last season was one of the reasons we finished where we did.

When on form he is a good player, and he is passionate but comparing how he plays for Argentina and Liverpool are 2 different things altogether. Personally I want him out of the club as his heart hasn't been there for over a year.

The truth is he is a mercenary like his other MSI and Argie compatriot Tevez. I know you are a big Argentina fan so this is probably hard for you to hear but a lot of people have had enough of his :censored:.

If anyone offers 25mil plus for him id say take it.

you're kidding right Bav? James Milner is rated by Villa as 30 million... why should we rate Masch, who is a better player lower than that? 30 million or we don't consider...   :;):

No way, I wouldn't sell him not for 25M.

#1 You don't sell your best players.
#2 T&T will pocket any money from the sale.
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

Doesn't he only have like 2 years on his contract left? If he doesn't sign a new contract then the longer it goes on the less he will end up going for.

Stevie says he doesn't want to discuss anything about Liverpool until after the world cup. Meanwhile Masch ishappy to get cryptic.

Javier Mascherano has fuelled rumours he may be set to join Rafael Benitez at Inter Milan after revealing he is learning Italian.

Javier Mascherano is currently on international duty with Argentina

Mascherano, currently on international duty with Argentina at the World Cup, has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield as Liverpool may be forced to sell star players to balance the books.

The Italian press has suggested Benitez could make Mascherano his main transfer target and it appears the midfielder may be considering a move to Serie A.

"I am learning Italian while I'm here in South Africa," he said. "I don't know what I will do after the tournament. We shall see."

Not sure if this is taken out of context or he is actually saying what I think he is saying but it's really starting to do my head in. Maybe we should get him :censored: paella cooking lessons too.
