With Masch having only 2 years left on his contract and refusing to sign a new one our bargaining power isn't the best. Next summer we might onnly get 10 million for him and at the same time we'll be carrying a disgruntled player for a whole season. We saw at the beginning of last season what it did to Masch when his head was turned. If that is the way whole of next season will be we'll be better off selling him now for 25 milion.

apparently Rafa is interested in Mascherano, Kuyt and now Johnson, Agger too.

We need to get rid of Masch asap. No use carrying him any longer if he doesn't want to be here. Either that or find him a new wife.

I thought his wife wasn't happy here because of the language barrier. How would moving to Italy fix that?

Of course the press are now going to start making up stories he wants to take the team with him, Inter are so weak they really need feckin Kuyt dont they?

Does anybody have footage of how the guy used to play before he was brainwashed by Rafa into playing the Rafa-way ?
I wonder if the shackles were loosened a bit would he develop the potential he had back at Gremio ?

I very much tongue in cheek suggested Rafa was pushed out as a masterstroke so he'd go to Inter and buy Babel, Kuyt, Lucas, N'Gog, Insua et al for inflated prices.

However the resident Italy expert/LFC fan said that it would unlikely happen because Rafa wouldn't have that much control over transfers, to which I raised an eyebrow. He says Rafa might say what type he wants and Branca (?) would get the player, not Rafa. Sounds ropey to me as a system, you want Mascherano and end up with Barton. You want Kjaer and end up with Lescott. That's not to say Rafa is flawless in selections/judgement.

I wouldn't want someone picking even paints for me as you want to decide the shade and not just the colour. Or it's like asking someone to buy you a "car" or "hatchback" with no input on make, colour, specs etc

Reckoning is Mascherano is Rafa's number one target. Not so keen on the suggestion of £33m for him AND Kuyt, start bidding at £30m just for Mascherano and hands off Kuyt. I can only assume that is £23m-£25m for Mascherano, £8m-£10m for Kuyt, I doubt Kuyt would suit Serie A anyway. Either way it isn't enough, they are worth a minimum £40m combined, but we'll let Rafa have them for a minimum £50m since he owes us £6m not including lost income for a cr ap season
