I can see the wrist slashers are out in force this afternoon. We cannot possibly challenge for anything unless we spend 50 squillion quid and buy up the Spanish National team, if Rafa does leave we're getting Glen Roeder as he's the only one who'll do it, Until the owners leave we can look forward to a relegation battle every season etc etc etc.

I don't buy it. I think Rafa will stay, but if he doesn't I think we'll get ourselves a decent manager and EVEN IF WE DON'T BUY ANYBODY AT ALL, I think we'll have a lot better season next time than we did this. If we buy a couple of players, even if we have to sell some to do it, we might even challenge for the title.

Is that positive enough? Forgive me for not joining in this group self mutilation session while strangely decrying everyone else for being negative.

The beauty of sports is there's always next year. Nothing is forever. And change is inevitable.

Normally id agree but not when we face the prospect of losing our best players this summer.

On a positive note, we should hope that Spurs finish fourth. I genuinely think they will struggle to qualify let alone finish in the top four again next season. Whereas if City finish fourth a mountain of money will end up cementing them in the top four for seasons to come.

Even if City finish 5th I think they will be even more determined for next season so could still end up spending a :censored: load just to go all out.

On the flip side if City finish 4th Mancini could stay in charge for next season. I don't really rate him tbh but if they finish 5th they could sack him and bring in a decent manager like Mourinho. You have a point though.

I would have also preferred to not have qualified for the Europa League. It would have been good to just concentrate on the league and FA cup for a change, back to basics like.

Anyway hopefully we will have a good summer in terms of investment and spending. But if UEFA want more people to be interested in the europa league they need to give more financial incentive.
