Best central-defender in the premiership - Who do you feel is the best centre-back?

There are no really genuine quality centre halves in the Premiership.
Terry, Ferdinand, Campell, Hyppia, Toure, Southgate etc are all decent defenders but if people are really honest they will have to see that the quality of defending in England is atrocious compared to Italy or even Spain.
William Gallas came close last season to being a world class centre half and I think that John Terry has the ability to do great things, but almost all of the above candidates have serious flaws in their game.
