Sitting off and 2nd to every ball, defence is very messy. Need to get in to half time without conceding or get another goal.

We're still suspect at the back. Newcastle should have 1 goal back and Gomez is mostly to blame.

Gomez and Matip both need to be moved on.

Happy with the two goals from our new forwards but you'd think we were a man down rather than them. Even our goals before the red card were against the run of play. Seems like our players can't or can't be bothered to put a shift in.

Still work to do in the second half, this game sadly isn't over, despite the great position we're in.

Eh? What on earth are you on about? He was fine. Did some really good work. Problem has been it's been pretty easy to get through our midfield.

Far too many unforced errors from us.

Getting sh=t on by 10 men- disgraceful- Newcastle could have won this with a player off - we are that bad defensively.

Ali MOTM for me. We've made this a lot harder than it needed to be. So little urgency.

Am not confident about Real, based on this performance.

Importantly, we get the 3 points and are still in hunt for a UCL spot. However, ironically we looked better when Newcastle had pope on the pitch. We started off really well, 2 good goals and you had the feeling of a top notch performance. Since the sending off we've been average and "10 man Newcastle" should have scored a few. Happy with the win but the overall performance has left a slight bitter taste.
Almost felt like being 2-0 up against 10 men the lads thought job is done and took their foot off the gas, had Newcastle got a goal back I wouldn't have be surprised if they had got themselves back into the game.

We take the three points happily, as others have said we looked better 11v11 than we did 11v10. I think Newcastle will fade and we should be looking at Spurs, and if we win our game in hand we will only be a point behind them. Certainly still a great chance as long as we can string some wins together. We play Palace away, Wolves at home, ManUre at home then Bournemouth away, all matches we can win.

Thank gawd for Ali !! More control after the 4 substitutions. Brilliant assist from Mo for Gakpo’s goal. Jota looked very sharp when he came on.Encouraging signs but still work to be done.

If we play like we did in the second half we will get our ar-ses handed to us by the Mancs.

Poor old Newcastle could end up with Karius in goal in the cup final next week.
