LIVERPOOL v burnley Sat 21st Aug 12.30pm

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby ycsatbjywtbiastkamb » Thu Aug 19, 2021 9:09 am

With Chelsea next up we need to win this one, it would be nice if we could win it in style as well. The corresponding fixture last January saw us lose our long unbeaten home record and was also the point when it became clear, after a good start where we topped the table at Christmas, that our title defence was over. Liverpool v burnley was a watershed game last season, as I say it would be nice to make this game equally as memorable but for the right reasons this time.
Hope Fab and Thiago start.

Shame our first home game with a capacity crowd is a 12.30pm kick-off. Atmosphere is always a bit flat with the early kick offs.

We owe these shitbags a beating. With the physicality of van Dijk, Matip, and Fabinho back, I'm not too worried about Burnley's threat. Can see Firmino and Fabinho coming in for Jota and Ox. And possibly one of Thiago or Henderson for Milner or Naby.

I don't think you can expect much physicality from VVD for another month, he's feeling his way back in and shied away from a few 50/50 challenges last game. Likewise Matip, Hendo etc.. are coming back from injuries so I don't expect a rolls royce performance yet..

Fab won’t be playing as his dad has just passed away. RIP

Awful news about Fabinho, I'm sure the lads will rally round and support him.

Great to see us back at Anfield with fans. I'm going for a strong 4-1 to the mighty reds.

Burnley are a bunch of tricky gits and this won’t be easy.

Attitude and team spirit looked excellent when we played Norwich. More of the same will get us the result we need.

1-0 up and a bit unlucky not to be 2-0 up but Burnley are deffo in this, I think we might well need a second because if the second half is anything like the first I can see them scoring.
Come on Liverpool.

This Elliott boy is not too shabby...considering this is his full league debut (?) and being only 18
