League Cup QF – West Ham at Anfield - 20:00 Wed 20 Dec

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Eagle » Tue Dec 19, 2023 3:49 pm

Things are getting a little tricky with a tight schedule and Robertson, Matip, Mac Allister, Bajcetic, Thiago, Jota, and now Doak, all missing. West Ham are also in the Europa League and played on Sunday too so it’s even stevens in terms of schedules but we have Arsenal on the weekend in a huge league game and they are out of this competition so have midweek off. I’d bring in Gakpo for Diaz, Elliott for Szoboszlai, Jones for Gravenberch, Gomez for Trent, and Quansah for Konate. I’d also expect Klopp to stick with Kelleher for the whole competition like he has done for the past couple of years.

This needs to be taken seriously because Moyes will definitely be out for a result. Several of our players need to step up !!

 Great result !! Never gave West Ham a second on the ball. Their first shot and it wasn’t on target wasn’t until the 70th minute !! Nunez, Jones, Elliot, Szoboszlai and Gakpo all standouts. After lacklustre performances at the weekend the very obvious kick up the ***** definitely worked  Great goal from Mo after his uncharacteristic miss.

Well done lads. More of the same against Arsenal please !!

West Ham did not park the bus and were punished, space was there to play like we like to play. I would guess more teams will start defending deep as they may see that as the only way to stop us, so we will need to break down the deep block philosophy. I cannot see Arsenal defending deep so we should have more success against them than we did against ManUre.

Much better performance and glad Klopp had a go at the crowd, we need Anfield to be rocking against Arsenal.

Semi

Liverpool vs Fulham
Chelsea vs Middlesbrough

Looking like another final against Chelsea.

Terrific performance and totally agree with redshade re Jurgen calling out our fans, remember those debates about locals & OOT’s back in the day? I just wish we could pack Anfield out with foreign fans like those fans from Melbourne a few years ago instead of the entitled miserable @rses we have now, many of them locals
