Not even that long to digest the 1-1 draw against city and we have a carling cup tie to prepare for.

I can see 11 changes as all our starting 11 deserve a rest after the city performance

Carragher will start and what an option to have also I'm hoping Gerrard plays some part. Bellamy should be in the right frame of mind to play and judging by how he played against them a week ago he will be relishing the challenge

Here's how I think we will line up

Doni
Kelly. Carragher. Coates. Flanagan

Maxi. Spearing. Gerrard/Henderson. Aurelio

Carroll. Bellamy

Also think Chelsea will make changes and I think we will do them 2-0

I expect a back five of:

Reina

Kelly Carragher Coates Aurelio

A decent mix of youth and experience, but mark my words we'll see a lot more hoof (EDIT: long) ball with that back four!

Also expect Spearing, Maxi, Bellamy and Carroll to all play. As to who the other two will be I've no idea, but both will be players who started on Sunday. I've not heard anything about Gerard being ready for this one. Not sure if it'll be 442/4411 or 433/451, we've successfully played both in the last two games, so who knows?

However we play it, I just hope Carroll isn't stuck up front all alone, he needs someone working off him.

Play the big guns. We haven't been to a domestic QF for years now and our next game is not for 6 days.
Keeping a similar team would also be good for confidence after the last 2 games.

Whatever anyone says and whatever team we field this is still a massive game. This is our best chance of winning any silverware this season.

FA Cup is bigger but this is a Quarter Final and we need a trophy badly.

chelsea have a philosophy of playing mostly the youngsters and the prospects in this competition, so i'd be surprised if torres starts. they actually have some genuine talent though with players like mceachran, lukaku and romeu so we'll have to be strong as well. i'd like to see coates, spearing and carroll all get starts and maybe bring in kelly and flanagan too. bellamy and probably maxi should also start for us giving us plenty of experience in the side.

i've no idea how to call it but i kind of fancy us to win it. stamford bridge is a happy hunting ground for us in recent games.

i'd go with that....personally i think the league cup is a waste of time anyway. Don't risk anyone from our first 11 and only use Gerrard if he's fit.
