Ba'stard.
I wanted JT to play
:glare:

Booked this weekend so he's out.  Time wasting in the last minute of play with strong fixtures ahead, many are saying he did it on purpose to make sure he didn't miss the Arsenal or Spurs game.

Both clubs starting a decently strong side.  Should be interesting.

just looking at the team he took there, i think you can say he is going for the win lol

Reina, Kelly, Carragher, Coates, Jose Enrique, Henderson, Lucas, Spearing, Maxi, Bellamy, Carroll. Subs: Doni, Suarez, Kuyt, Downing, Adam, Skrtel, Flanagan.

good bench , give the rest of of team 45 min to bang 5 goals in and then make a few subs at half time, happy days lol

Can see Suarez playing at some stage.

Maxi aside, not a huge amount of creativity in that midfield

True, but I see us having complete control of it.  Lucas has been fantastic as of late, and if he keeps that up he'll control most of it by himself.  With Spearo in there, another defensive-minded cm, their cm's won't be able to do much.

Mata on the bench.  Can only see him coming on the left side.  Wouldn't want Enrique to anally rape him again.

2 worries when i look at that lineup:

1) Jordan Henderson... With Spearing and Lucas in the side we need a different type of player in the middle playing with them. If hes played down the right then I think the 4-4-2 will give us plenty of problems. Going forward, I expect yet another disappointing performance from him down the flank which is a shame because he seemed to adjusting better in a more central role.

2) Coates... A big wrry at the back. Im yet to see him play a game without making at least a disastrous mistake or two. He obviously needs the game time but I feel this might have been our best chance of getting a title and we perhaps should have gone for it a bit more in terms of defensive selections.

Besides that, have to say Im happy Spearing, Maxi, Bellamy and Carroll all get starts here. They have all (Carroll aside) impressed whenever played so far this season. Im not sure their performance tonight will have any bearing on their chances of claiming a starting 11 spot but it surely cant push them further down the list. Chelsea have gone for a strong lineup and upfront they have 2 of the best strikers in the recent history of the league paired up with the best goalscoring midfielder in the league playing behind them. I dont expect us to play an open game but I do hope we dont simply resort to hoofing it to Carroll whenever we get the ball.

I'm not actually. When I was working through what team I'd play, I kept coming back to Lucas. Do I rest him? Do I play him? All the other decisions were pretty simple, including resting Suarez.

In the end I couldn't make up MY mind, hope Kenny has made a good decision with HIS!
