Liverpool Football Club - Games

These are exactly the type of outfit we used to struggle against i.e physical centre forwards, long throws, set pieces etc but under Jurgen we are a bit more able to cope with that Wimbledon-esque style of play than we were under the likes of Roy Evans and even Rafa.

Got to admit I've never seen Brentford.

Just hope we don't get complacent as I'm sure whatever their quality or game style Brentford will definitely be up for the game, let's face it, whatever the result, unless we batter them, they've got nothing to lose.

Chelsea and United both lost...*knock on wood* but can we pull together a good run and consolidate our position?

Edit: what do you know....United get a penalty in injury time right after my post, no surprise there and Fernandes went on and missed it   Ronnie would be furious

Top of the League before we start our match  :buttrock

Good results for us today, we need to win ourselves now to stay on top.

United lose and deservedly so, they were awful today. Hope they haven't found out what a fraud they have in charge of their team yet. Please football gods, let Ole stay just two or three seasons more.

90+3 minutes that penalty!!     Great result for every club to demonstrate that massive spending doesn't guarantee results. Well done Villa. I reckon Ronaldo will last one season max.

Brentford will prove difficult just like Stoke in the past, we have to manage them and find a way to beat them. Just hope they don't park the bus. Our back four should absorb whatever forays they put together.

Come on Reds!  :buttrock

I watched them against Arsenal mate and they pretty much bullied the Gunners, to be fair to Arsenal Brentford's second goal shouldnt have stood as someone took Leno out off the ball but with their combative style and proficiency at set pieces Brentford are a handful alright. A lot of their attacking play revolves around their target man CF Ivan Toney who is a bit of a poor man's Lukaku but a tricky customer all the same. He's already said he can't wait to play against Virgil.

LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS

Team to play Brentford: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Jones, Salah, Jota, Mane.

Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Gomez, Tsimikas, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Minamino, Firmino, Origi.

Good solid 11 ..close to our best XI for me.

Time for Curtis to show why he should be a starting more games,

I hope Virgil keeps Ivan Toni quiet. That lad is a class player.

I don't know what Mane is up to, first he blows a break and then he sends a suicide ball back towards defence.

Midfield is not so secure with Jones in place of Thiago.

Canos is running amok on the counter. In fairness they had one cleared off the line earlier as well.

Get in there Jota :buttrock

Nice quick reply.

I find it funny that someone small like Jota is so good in the air haha
