Yossi lifts the lid

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I think its just reached the point where people just say whatever they have to to keep things quiet in the short term Ciggs. After what Yossi's spouted that b0llocks I'm not sad to see him go
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Who cares who's lying Yossi wasn't that good anyway but what Yossi did SAY about the manager concludes most peoples opinions that Rafa is a cold fish with very poor man-management skills. By all means divert the context of Yossi's interview away by him talking to the sunday s*n hell have a swipe and Cecil but the FACT remains Rafa treated Yossi like s.hit.

Hey  ???  Who cares who's lying? Thats shallow isnt it seen as the clubs being ran by a gang of feckin liars talk about missing the point.
Rafa told Tompkins he did NOT agree to sell Benayoun to Chelsea, Cecil and Yossi are saying he did, if you dont think this is important then no wonder the boardroom gets away with walking all over us.

Dundalk wrote:"But I want Liverpool fans to know the truth and for them to know I made up my mind to leave a long time ago because of Benitez.

"He never treated me with the respect I deserved."

It is fairly short-sighted to write that in the NOTW though, isn't it?

The second statement is a typical pampered millionaire football comment.

In that interview Rafa told Yossi he wasn't in the squad for the last game of the season and to contact his agent to secure a deal somewhere else.

But this discussion is now making a smoke screen by diverting the crux of the suspicious issues amongst LFC fans away from the gist of this thread. If you can't bare to see players come out and say what a cold fish Rafa is then that's your problem, you're only lying to yourself.

In his 3 years at Anfield Yossi gave everything he has in each and every game.
All of us know, that even a hat-trick couldn't promise Yossi a place in the starting
team the next game. Yes, I agree with him - It is Rafa to blame, and it's a good thing
that Yossi is talking about it AFTER the season is over, and explaining the fans
of the team he really loved (and was hoping to play much longer there) why he left.

Was Ian Rush "Judas" for leaving us? and he didn't have a "Rafa" problem...
Was Alonso Judas?

Yossi left not for the money (hey, he'll get a bit more - but coul'd have left earlier
to Russian clubs for much much more!). He left because he felt he can't deal
with Rafa anymore.

I think he should get the warmest welcome he can get at Anfield next time he comes.
Try to remember his great moments here from the goal in Madrid to the hat-tricks.
From the way he put his head to score that goal against Arsenal while kicked in the head
(would Babel do the same?) to the last minute goals that kept us in the race a year ago.

Thank you Yossi for those 3 years.

Listen Bam Rafa's biggest mistake was selling Alonso no one can say it wasnt it all went down hill from there on in, but for 2 seasons Yossi has been looking for a move.
If he couldnt bare Rafa as much as he says he couldnt why did he sign a new contract last season?
Why didnt he stay knowing full well rafa was getting the sack?. What about if Roy wanted to keep him and Cecil sold him regardless?
He is covering his own back incase he gets abuse when he comes to Anfield with Chelsea because he's gone there for more money thats all.

Yossi was/is inconsistant when on form he was a cracker but he did/does go missing in games, he was sh!te last season as where a lot of them.
We only have 3 players with a bit of flair Gerrard, Torres and him now we have 2 and them 2 might leave also which leaves us with feck all.

Your just biased lash . The problem is not that he's gone to Chelsea . The problem is the interview he has given . Once again Liverpool's backroom shenanigans are being played out in the public domain . He should have just kept his trap shut , took his wedge and got on with it .

Did you see any big interviews in the papers slating the manager after Rush left or Alonso . NO . They got on with it and so should he . He is a disloyal tw.at .

I am not too disappointed that Yossi has gone TBH. A decent squad player at best and I think we have replaced him in the squad with a better player in Jovanovic.

I am not overly surprised by his comments about Rafa as most of his comments appear valid given they are common with the comments made by other unhappy players in the squad (Babel and Riera to name 2). It appears Rafa has taken a very hard line with them and I believe this has been Rafa's downfall and the reason he lost the changing room.

I don't know why, maybe his relationships went down hill after that when Rafa told him he was in his plans by offering him a new contract, then all those comments that Yossi said Rafa said about him may have come after that.

Why didnt he stay knowing full well rafa was getting the sack?

Do we actually know Yossi knew Rafa was getting sacked, according to Yossi at the time of the Hull match Rafa told him to start searching for a new club. At that time Rafa's position was up in the air to most, even if Christie did tell a few fans at the Atletico "he's gone".

What about if Roy wanted to keep him and Cecil sold him regardless?

Well then it's fuc.ked if that is the case but why then would Yossi come out and say what he did about the manager?

He is covering his own back incase he gets abuse when he comes to Anfield with Chelsea because he's gone there for more money thats all.

Sure he may have left for more money, he's entitled to do that as much as Rafa was when he got paid off for his severance pay. I can't see that Yossi would come out and say that to keep the Anfield mob off his back, he wasn't that special anyway. If anything he'll get more stick now for saying what he's said, if he'd of said nowt, on his return nobody would have battered an eye lid, he's not that good.

Good on yer Yossi! Sometimes I wonder how on earth Rafa was ever allowed to manage LFC. I'm sorry to say this but I don't consider Benitez a legend at Anfield. He was great at times but the words of Benayoun and others like Warnock who left the club leave me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

The truth is that Rafa inherited a great side with great players at Valencia. At Anfield he failed to build a great side and wasted a lot of money including on big money buys like Aquilani and Keane. If he'd had £100 million to spend this summer my feeling is that he'd have wasted it again on the wrong players.

To treat players like Benayoun with such disdain as well is unforgiveable. Inter are welcome to him.
