Did Souness build? Souness inherited a title winning team then wrecked it. There's a difference if you have to start from scratch.

only comparison i will make is GH got sacked rightly so and RB should go the same way

Its getting really boring now reading you criticising RAFA over and over and over again. In a way i hope Rafa does go cos he don't deserve this cr@p of so called fans like you. Shame on you and your buddies ,and while in here i also found the ganging up and internet bullying (cos that's what it was) of LANDO really offensive.
All the anti Rafa crowd were like wolves round a wounded animal just cos the man showed a quality that most of you lack its called LOYALTY. What short memories you have if you want to glory hunt go to manure>

Shankly made us great. Liverpool were all but forgotten about in Europe. He made us great again. I can see the comparison.

By the way, it took Shanks 6 years to do anything.

I hope we are not going down this route again.

Shankly won the second division title in HIS SECOND FULL SEASON not 6 years. Its a bit different starting in the second division than starting with a side that finished 4th in the prem.

If you want to make silly comparisons Shankly spent less than £1.5million on transfers - Rafa has spent around £150million.

Can people please not compare Rafa to Shanks.  Shanks built this club.  Without him all the success which came afterwards would not of happened.  Rafa's philosphy on how football should be played goes against the traditions of Bill Shankly!!

I know that, S@int. I was just waiting for someone to pop up and correct me on it. What I really meant was it took him 6 to get us to the very top.

And as for cost issues, I know it may be a bit of a daft point, but player costs back then were about a 10th of what they are today. Would that be a fair assessment?

DAV, it helps if you quote, mate. I don't know if that's directed at me or the poster before me. I think it's at noby, though.

My point is, if something is seriously f*cked or broken, sometimes it takes a lot of time to either fix or totally rebuild. We're in a state now, and no manager is going to come straight through the door and fix things instantly. It's just never going to happen that way unless we have a seriously rich sugar daddy to throw cash about.
