Why did everton reject fowler?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Iamheretoplease » Mon Jan 30, 2006 5:19 pm

The majority of sunday newspapers and radio statoins yesterday were commenting on Evertons rejection of signing Robbie Fowler.

Everton badly need a striker and Moyes said after the chelsea game that they are desperately looking but he wont sign players that look good for three days but in two months are a complete disaster.

So if Fowlers the best as everyone says, why did Moyes reject him when they need a striker?

For the same reason Moyes team is lower in the table. ??? I really think there's some underrating going on with some veteran players. Veteran is veteran, not :censored:. The fraction of seconds in speed that are lost due to age, are often compensated by the experience. Except in those players who base their game in pace, like CIsse.

I dont get it.

Moyes agreed to buy Forsell for 3m from Chelsea in the summer and then rejected him. Everton fans were angry and Moyes said that the reasons were good but wouldnt disclose them. A couple of weeks later after more anger and more pressure as they failed to buy a striker moyes just said Forsell isnt fit and he will never be fit. Is the reason he didnt want Folwer?

What makes you think Fowler would consider playing for Neverton anyway?? Especially as he revered so highly here why would he of wanted to lose face? Either way its pure speculation whether Moyes rejected him or not.

The bottom line is Everton told Fowler where to go. We dont want you. The same with Forsell.

Why buy a player that looks good for three days when after two months its a disaster.

Because he's an idiot.

Sh*te teams need fast, battering rams.

Good teams need Fowler.  :eyebrow

everton wanted fowler and tried to get him off man city. pearce didn't really want to let him go and told everton to stuff it. when liverpool made serious enquiries pearce decided that not allowing fowler to fulfill his dream return would be bad for man city and bad for fowler so he let him go. simple as that.
