Cut our losses with him
Fck logic. How many players in this side score more than 10 goals a season ? Regardless of the number of games they play ! He's had a bad season and a half (so far) of injuries, no one will dispute that. He's injury prone, no one will dispute that either. That said, he still is one of the best forwards in Europe and his record (the best in the club's history in terms of goals per minute, and goals/assists per minute) compares only to that of the very best players in the world. You try to sell him and the top clubs in the league will all want to take that gamble. He isnt on 200k+ a week, he's a proven goal machine, he's English, his value is at its lowest, and most importantly he's only 26 and has every chance of putting his injuries behind him.
League only stats:
His first half a season, he scored 10 and assisted 5 in 1088 minutes played
His second season , he scored 22 and assisted 9 in 2269 minutes played
Last season, he was injured and still managed to score 4 and assist 3 in 749 minutes played. The same number of goals our other forwards Balotelli, Borini, and Lambert combined managed.
For you to even suggest that him being lazy is a good enough reason to consider selling him is madness. He's a striker, his job is to score goals, he does that better than anyone in the league bar Aguero. We've had Origi fit all season; I'd suggest Sturridge has contributed more in the 200mins or so he's played than Origi has all season. Funny enough, I think you'd probably assign them both the same value in the market.
