50mil sounds tempting. But how much would it cost to buy a striker as good as him? Probably more in today's market. That said, his injury record has to be taken into account too.

If real (Express is a bit hit and miss) and we got that money and say 25 for Hendo or Benteke, we could make a serious challenge for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, he is a serious goal scoring machine, but i think i read his father wants him to goto Madrid

Or, as we have done in recent times, we could spunk that 75mil on several 15-20 mil signings that don't work out.

Aubameyang is now one of the hottest properties in football. It's not transfer fees where we can't compete with other top sides, it's wages. Even if he fancied playing here our top salary is under 150k. He could make double that elsewhere. Close to no chance of getting him now in my opinion. If he'd previously stated his dream was always to play for LFC then you never know, but as you say he's talked about Real Madrid in the past.

Congrats to Sturridge on getting to 50 goals with Liverpool. Second fastest to 50 goals for us in recent era only behind Torres (in 87, Torres in 84). Taking into account the number of sub appearances Sturridge has made and his reduced match fitness/minutes per game due to injury, its safe to say he would have destroyed Torres' record had he played more consistently.

I still think he's the best player we have at the club although Coutinho is starting to challenge him for that now.

Quick look at his record for us for all the doubters:

This season: 10 goals and 1 assist in 1250 minutes of football (7 goals and 1 assist in the league in 710 minutes).

Last season: 5 goals and 2 assist in 1214 minutes of football (4 goals and 2 assist in the league in 749 minutes).

13/14: 24 goals and 9 assist in 2667 minutes of football (21 goals and 9 assist in the league in 2277 minutes).

12/13: 11 goals and 5 assist in 1350 minutes of football (11 goals and 5 assist in the league in 1160 minutes).

A goal per 130 mins of football is a very very good rate in EPL. That's like a goal per 1.5 matches...

I get the feeling Studge is not part of Klopps main xi. He does not start in our main matches which shows maybe klopp does not feel studge fits his style. Its all speculation i guess.
Studge is a game changer and will atleast get a goal from somewhere.
I wonder if he will start in the 2nd leg...
If his given a full 90 vs Swansea then for the 2nd leg a start fot him is a doubt.

Just thought he was on bench with a knock and would only be risked in an emergency but now not sure, perhaps we will find out tomorrow.

Shame BT and news outlets havent managed to report it one way or another.

If he was ready then definately he should have been on for at least 20 mins so thats a Klopp error.

I caught the end of what looked like a pre match interview with Klopp at Villareal and he said that Sturridge hadn't played in a 433 with the team before so he didn't select him for that reason. Nothing about a knock at all.

I don't think that's a very good reason at all. Under Rodgers Sturridge played as a wide forward as well as the front forward when Suarez was not available. Sturridge was played for the league games and he's been scoring goals. And yet when you see your attack is blunt with Firmino leading the line, you don't use Sturridge?  :no

Think it has more to do with the fact that Firmino tracks back more and can play deeper. I agree with the sentiments that Sturridge should have been brought up later in the game, but think Klopp was - rightly or wrongly - playing for the draw.

Firmino can cover the pitch 100 times over but Sturridge is still a better player and more likely to win games for us.

As for introducing Ibe, well it beggars belief.

Psg offering 50 million quid for Sturridge  That has got to be total rubbish  :nod

I don't think he has a future here under Klopp and will be off in the summer but not for that kind of money considering his injury record. That will be a major factor in negotiating any fee.

Still he should have played some part last night. He is one of our best players and hands down the best finisher so it should have been him before Benteke or Ibe  :nod
