Wat about the youngsters - What would u do

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby philchampionsl2005 » Fri Sep 02, 2005 3:04 am

over the summer we have seen the arrival of 6 youngsters to liverpool. 3 CB , 2 midfielders and 1 striker. Rafa payed clause with there prevoius clubs to get them which to me shows high potential for liverpool to do that. I was thinking though could these signings be used quicker than expected. We have seen mainly at Arsenal that throwing the youngsters into big games, preferable carling cup can help there development vastly, as arsene did lst season and look at the development of clichy, fabregas, flamini etc. Do u believe that if rafa put theses players into certain matches it would be 2 much of a risk or would really help the development of these players
What is your opinion on this.

I honestly don't know because very little is known about them.

If any of them turns out to be another Casec Fabergas or have 75% of the impact, I'd be over the moon. Even then, Fabergas is no real substitute for Patrick Viera yet because he needs more experience. Only Rafa and his coaching staff would know beacuse they are with these players day in and day out at work. All of us can hope for the best.

Most of these youngsters are around 17-19, would love to see some of them helping out with the cup matches. Couple of 18s 19s have made themselves known in world football in recent years, perhaps we can uncover a gem among them too, since they were brought in by rafa as talented youngsters.  :eyebrow

If I were Rafa, I would only allow Barragan the breakthrough because he is relatively older then the other youngsters and that our right flank is rather weak at the moment. Other then that, I'll allow the other youngsters to participate in the Carling Cup, mixing with some experienced players.

Yer, i know sum ppl are still a bit peeved at the whole rw cb situation, but I see it as an opportunity to utilise are young players, why not? As one person pointed out, Arsenal do it. Besides, you can get away with having at least one young player in a premiership match providing they are not playing centre back as that could be too risky. but yea, I reckon we could uncover some v.promising players here.:)

i'd give all the youngsters a run in the carling cup, like we did last year. the youngsters last year beat a full-strength middlesbrough and tottenham team!
rafa is purposely playing all the youngsters in the same team in the reserve league so they get experience playing with each other before hand. (a bit like what fergie did with beckham, neville, scholes.etc.)

It's intersting that one of the youngsters, Hobbs was wanted by Arsenal but we fought them off and signed him.

I was very surprised when we got Barragan. He was coveted by both Real and Barca.
